Have that rifle, it is a shooter. Factory 140 in 1/2 moa and handloads in the .3s. It's in a Mcree now and wearing a razor. It shot just as good in the factory hs, just more ergonomic now.

I know the savages don't get much love here in the resale value side of the house, but they are great shooters. I love mine. If you go with the rifle in the article you won't regret it.

I have a friend who bought one in .260 on it way. I like the savage platform because its cheaper to build up and you can do a lot of the work your self.

I have it in 260. Shoots excellent. Not ideal for hunting. Too heavy to shoot unsupported and heavy to carry.

I have that exact set up. Its sweet. They should have gave it a Varmit profile barrel, but its still very nice for the money, and shoots lights out.

Mind sharing your load data? I have one in a Manners T2A. Starting load development right now.

Ditto, fine setup. Only thing I wish it had was a flatter grip instead of the traditional hunter grip.

I know a lot of guys where asking about the Berger bullets and how they shoot.

Berger 140g Hybrid VLD
40-41.5g of H4350 (The powder didn't seem to change the groups as much as you would think)
CCI large Primers
Nosler Brass
COAL 2.900

I got groups as small as .2 out of this rifle. I am just blown away by how easily this rifle will shoot.

P.S. The two large groups where my first two groups. I had a hard time trying to figure out how to stabilize the rear of the rifle. My bipod was for prone shooting and not bench shooting.
