Lost in Idaho...
Oh. My. God.

This is a HUGE improvement over the 5R HS Precision stock that it used to wear. The fit and finish are top notch, Gary does fine work indeed. The color is Magpul Flat Dark Earth.

I just cant wait to go shoot this thing! Barreled action used is a standard SPS Tactical .308, trigger is a Timney Tactical straight shoe trigger, only mod done to the barreled action is threading the barrel for the use of a Shrewd brake.

So is it an sps or a 5r? looks really good, how much did it run?

Re: Just got my Eliseo RTS Chassis.. (pic)

Ummm... It says SPS barreled action. Probably just had a 5R take-off stock previously.

Looks great! I'd throw on a Ergo tactical deluxe grip or Larue APEG grip

So sexy! The more I see these the more I want one! Have any shot group photos with the hs stock? Would be cool to see the results just from the chassis swap.

It is an SPS Tactical, it was in a 5R take-off stock.

The Chassis runs for $1k, with the fully adjustable rear stock and bag rider.. You can get the Light-weight hunter model for $800, and use your own AR style butt-stock (A2, M4, PRS, etc)

I am currently looking into grips. The Magpul MIAD/MOE grips came to mind.. The Larue looks quite promising as well. Thanks for the heads up.

Gary Eliseo did the install for me. Hes a buddy and hes somewhat local to me. I guess the rear of my action was a tad out of round so he trued it up a bit on his lathe and fitted it to the chassis. What awesome Remington quality control..

As far as difficulty though, the barrel actually comes off for the install, so you can install the recoil disc. I wouldn't trust myself to do it, but I would probably attempt it.. lol.

Oh, I should have a range report tomorrow afternoon. I plan on hitting my range for some 100yd paper targets and some 1000yd steel.

Gary does make an excellent system, doesn't he? Glue a computer mouse pad on to that bare metal cheek rest so you don't freeze yourself to that chassis in the winter, or scald yourself in the summer, and you should be good to go.

Gary told me a 2" wide strip of self adhesive velcro loop side works really well actually. He uses 2" plate for that piece so its apparently a perfect fit.

And yes, it is a wonderfully well thought out system.

With optics, total weight is 13.5lbs.. Not too bad overall. The weight will help a lot with stability in the prone position... And its still light enough for me to comfortably make a shot here and there in the prone and sitting position.

Re: Just got my Eliseo RTS Chassis.. (pic)

Took the gun out today and put some lead downrange to get my basic zeros for tomorrow.

I put one 3 shot group on target at 100yards and wasn't making any effort at all, I just wanted to verify that the scope was pointed where it should be, and the group shows that in spades.. But I must say, that if I put that little effort into a 100 yard group with the old setup, it would have been MUCH worse.

I then made my way over to the long range. I plugged in some numbers into Ballistic on my iPhone and began shooting. First round hits on 200, 300, 500, 600 and 700 yard steel.. It was almost effortless. The new ergonomics of the stock make this thing a total pleasure to shoot.

I am a very happy camper. I have a local tactical match tomorrow morning so I will be able to update here with a better, more complete range report after.

The 100yd "group" from today. The 2 flyers were me getting on paper and zeroed.

Re: Just got my Eliseo RTS Chassis.. (pic)

Looks awesome. I just got my tracking number from Gary yesterday for my new R1F chassis. Once it shows up here on Thurs, I'll decide if I'm going to order another one for my practice rig so they feel the same. The group buy is going on now so it's a good time to order one up.

not a big fan of the look, the bolted on sleeve or what have you over the barrel, but i'm sure it would change mine mind if i got behind it.

Re: Just got my Eliseo RTS Chassis.. (pic)

I love the set up. I am just finishing up my new build but I will start saving up for one like this. The looks of this stock is awesome. Gary seems to know what hes doing.

Re: Just got my Eliseo RTS Chassis.. (pic)

Tom at TVP (Thunder Valley Precision -Ohio) is in the process of doing my RTS build now (.260). The feel and look of the quality of workmanship that goes into the Chassis is top notch! I can only hope it (and I) shoot as comparable. Will try to get some range info after completion. Excited!!

Re: Just got my Eliseo RTS Chassis.. (pic)

So you are almost ready to go? I'm surprised you didn't mention the other day how far along you are. Let us know how it shoots (on the team I mean)you are going to put a sling on it?
