And for all those law-abiding citizen types expecting justice?

There is your first mistake. It is NOT a justice system. It is the legal system. Those two terms are mutually exclusive

Re: No DC criminal charges to be filed against Gregory

This a such a load of sh*t. Typical "do as I say, not as I do" BS. If any pro 2A guy did this and he would have to be posting bail right now.

Re: No DC criminal charges to be filed against Gregory

So as long as I'm anti-gun I can break any gun law I want. Guess the upcoming bans won't have any effect on me because I'm now officially anti-gun.

I'm really getting sick and tired of following laws...

Re: No DC criminal charges to be filed against Gregory

One set of rules for the elite, and a separate unequal set of rules for the rest of us. This is one of the reasons we went through a revolutionary thought process prior to the War for In dependance. It is also the reason for the incident in Athens, TN right after WWII.
There are at this point, several reasons to support the same action that was used in Athens, TN at a national level

Re: No DC criminal charges to be filed against Gregory

The Battle of Athens illustrates the value of the 2A, and what can happen if you don't stand up for your rights. More people should know about it. Things are very different now, less black and white, with more complex and systemic imbalances. For some, it's hard to see through all the shades of gray.

Bill White, WWII veteran, grew up in Athens, went to war for his country, then returned to find his town controlled by corrupt gov't. He's not about shades of gray. Here's an Interview of him, covering his service as well as his engagement in the Athens incident. It's long, 46 pages, but well worth reading.

I can't imagine how something like this would be handled today, 70 years later. Living in CA, I do know we are incrementally losing our rights, like pieces from the chess board.

Cliff Notes: "He's on our side."

Re: No DC criminal charges to be filed against Gregory

This guy breaks the very gun laws he extolls and he just walks. In a place that took handgun ownership in your own home to the supreme court. He could have shown a picture instead, and that is what the damn cop should have told him when he arrested him.

Yeah, this shit sure is two sided. I'm getting sick of it all myself as well, something here has to change.

<span style="font-weight: bold">"the intent of the temporary possession and short display of the magazine was to promote the First Amendment purpose of informing an ongoing public debate about firearms policy in the United States" </span>

Protected under the First Amendment while trying to dismantle the 2nd Amendment, very interesting.

Well, <span style="font-style: italic">bravo</span> Davey G, and ... a tip ... of the hat ... to ... <span style="font-style: italic">you,</span> James Tiberius. And now I wonder to myself, in a purely, purely hypothetical frame of reference, since we don't promote illegal activities, just which crummy, unconstitutional DC statutes could safely be broken by the average guy on the street in the name of promoting the First Amendment?

Poor, poor misguided DC po-po, I think that you just knocked the lid off of Pandora's Box.

So there we go all my guns are protected now because I only own them temporarily based on how long I live. Then it will be passed to my temporary new owners AKA my kids.

Veer,

I agree about pandora's box being opened. How do they (honestly) expect to prosecute anyone in posession with a "high capacity" magazine, if their defense attorney says..."Your Honor, my client's intent of the temporary possession and short display of the magazine was to promote the First Amendment purpose of informing an ongoing public debate about firearms policy in the United States. He had no intention of keeping it".

A double standard in D.C.? Say it ain't so!

Re: No DC criminal charges to be filed against Gregory

Does this mean they can't charge me with possession since I plan on getting rid of all this weed and thus my possession is only temporary and it helps me express my 1st amendment rights more eloquently?

This new founded "loop hole" can be used everywhere, I can go 100mph in a school zone and then proceed to tell the officer "I was showing my son the dangers of speeding", and he lets me go......
