I haven't done much research on the best can available on the market and wanted to see what you all think? My budget is $1000 dollars and I live in the Dallas area. Does anyone have experience with anyone here in Dallas that offers a great service for this?

Silenced America.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

AAC cyclone is what I use and the point of shift with and without is predictable. As well my groups sizes seem to shrink significantly with suppressor.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

Thunderbeast Arms. Specifically the 30p-1

But if you want something local that is on par with the TBAC. Go with the Shark from David Whitson. May be a bit more than your budget though.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

I have researched and concluded the Thunderbeast will give you the most accuracy.

This, most definitely!

Everybody on here says Thunderbeast. I'd look hard into it.

I have an AAC SDN6. Suppressor is phenomenal, it works great. Mounts suck. Unless you lap them individually so that the suppressor locks on tight, it wobbles on the end and accuracy suffers. When it locks up tight, it does seem to improve the group on at least one rifle that I noticed. If you don't mind doing that, this one can work on many rifles from 5.56 to 7.62, and on .300BLK, it is damn quiet.

If I had it to do over, I'd get thread on cans, even if that meant getting three different ones. The money and time I spent on mounts would have paid for one, and thread on costs less and uses the same guts.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

Check out OPS Inc. They make the best cans available and will do business with any class 3 dealer. They're the quietest and by far the most durable, they're everything but bomb proof.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

I purchased a Thunderbeast 30P-1 and could not be happier. I had my barrel threading done by Tornado Technologies.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

Thanks gentlemen for all the replies. Looks like I will go with the Thunderbeast 30P-1. I just tried calling the Collin County Sheriff's office and they said he won't sign off on the paperwork unless he knows someone that will vouch for me. That will be pretty hard since I just moved to Dallas from Kansas City over the summer. I will try the local PD Chief and try my luck there. I guess if that doesn't work I will try to setup a trust.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

Get a trust and don't worry who will sign it.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

While I have never met Scott @ Silenced America or been to his shop, I have dealt with them over the phone and contacted him several times. He has a shop in Dallas. He is easy to talk to and helpful. He can get you hooked up with a trust and has great prices. Look them up and give him a call.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

TBAC 30 serries.... my shift is repeatable and the sound signature is reduced, exceeds my expectations.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

Any mentioned here are great. I'd say the one in stock and has a brake (if applicable to you) to get paperwork started. These are crazy times

I would go with a 30P-1, TBAC is hands down the best can on the market for bolt guns. What are you going suppress, are you shooting for sport, comp's. Feel free to call me and i can see if i can offer a suggestion.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

Tac Ops cans seem to be top notch from what i have heard. The welds and seems are flawless and i believe you can make your own customized serial number. This is what Mike mentioned to me about a year or so ago. Perhaps things have changed.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

I have a trust established and I have checked out local dealers for the Thunderbeast can but nobody stocks it in tan or they are asking $200 dollars more than retail if they have it in stock. I have heard that the TAC Ops can is pretty sweet too!

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

My $0.02 here..

You'll probably be putting some type of thermal cover over the can to deal with mirage. Something like a TAB SASR or the cover that TBAC sells on their website. You could get whatever 30P-1 you can find and then put a tan cover of some sort on it and problem solved!

FWIW - I bought my 30P-1 from Steve @ Colonial Armory. Planning on doing business with him again very soon. Also have purchased from Silenced America. Can't go wrong there either!

BTW - Welcome to Texas! I used to live in KC. Boulevard ships their beers down here too

Talk with Steve (RangeWalker) he will help you out. He already help me out and more members of this forum. I am sure you will like his prices. For the money you spend at your LOCAL FFL. You can get another .22 can from Steve.

We can refinish it to a different color for a nominal cost

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

I use an AAC 762-sdn-6 and am happy with it.

I like the quick detach option and the fact that AAC makes adapters in both 5/8x24 1/2x28, it lets me use it on my ar-15 without having to buy a separate suppressor.

...although, once you buy one it probably won't be your last. I later ended up buying a 223 suppressor anyway.

I am considering a 762-sdn-6 as well, for the same reason you just mentioned. Any reason why you still went with a smaller caliber can?

Thanks!

Its an addiction one is NOT enough. I like the cyclone I have one, very repeatable shift and quiet. I also like the SDN-6 have one also, shorter, quick detach but not the precision of the cyclone. Have 3 more suppressors coming 2 Templar Tactical and 1 silencer co. If I had one thing to change I might of bought a TB 30p-1 instead of the cylone as I have heard nothing but good about them. At the same time I have had no problems with my cyclone and it was my first suppressor.

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

I've got the following 30 cal cans: SRT Arms Shadow XL Ti, TBAC 30BA, Yankee Hill YHM-3400; Surefire FA762K, Gemtech Sandstorm, Mack Brothers MB-300, SAS Arbiter and they all sound nearly the same. For me the main difference between them all is the POI shift. Those cans that have a greater POI shift have found themselves permanently screwed on their host which by default makes POI shift irrelevant...

Re: .308 Best Suppressor

I currently use the 30-p1 more than anything and have no complaints. They are built by shooters, are on this site to answer questions, and are well known. However, I do not feel that they are the end all, best of the best. There are several cans out there that will do the exact same thing. I also have an AAC Cyclone that works just as well. The poi shift is minimal and the exact same on both cans. The cyclone is a little heavier but is also a few hundred dollars less expensive. Just something to consider, if money is an issue.

I'd love your experiences in ranked order of least -> most shift.

save up a little more, drive down the road and go see David at Shark Precision. He lives in the same area as you.
