Hi

I´d like to show you my first semi auto rifle. A Steyr AUG A3 in .223 with a ACOG T31 sight on it and for close range i bought me a Eotech 512. I did my military service with the older brother of my AUG A3 wich is the Stg77 witch is defacto a AUG A2 and was always impressed by its reliability and accuracy.

Re: Austrian Blackrifle

Nice!

I always wanted "the original" but owned a MSAR a few years ago.

I was trying out different military style piston semi auto's at the time. I tried the MSAR, Sig223 Patrol carbine and Robinson arms XCR. I already had a very accurate AR-15 carbine and in the past have had a Ruger mini 14 and a Daewoo.

Accuracy wise none of then came close to my AR.

Coolness factor, field removable barrel, compactness and feel, the MSAR was my favorite.

Re: Austrian Blackrifle

Thanks for sharing pictures of your AUG. What device is that mounted on the right side in the lower pictures? Laser/Optic combo?

Re: Austrian Blackrifle

Also, curious if Steyr is offering the Austrian made A3 rifles with the faster twist rifling 1x7" (178mm)? The US made A3 barrels still have the slower 1x9 twist as the older Austian made AUG rifles.

Re: Austrian Blackrifle

Hehe yea to bad for you ! But i also have my problems with companies from your country because of ITAR no american company would send any gunparts to austria. I´d love to order the carging handle from ratworx for the aug but they dont ship to me

Re: Austrian Blackrifle

What kind of government flaming hoops do you have to go through in Aus to own your AUG? That is a great rifle. I got to test drive one of your guys AUGs in Thailand some years back.

Re: Austrian Blackrifle

hei flolito , nice gun you have there

on the government side:
for semi auto guns, be it a pistol, revolver or a semi auto rifle we need a "Weapons owning permit", wich one gets after a background check, and a psychological test.
