Saw this on chris's page, can't wait to see the final product.

Re: My combat precision journey begins

The full cycle:

Back in the late 70s and early 80s a group of cops started shooting steel and bowling pin matches.

The go to gun was of course the 1911. Started out with stock 1911 Colts, then started adding all the gimmacks to enhance the guns accuracy or what ever.

All they enhanced was problems. Scores and times went down, some lower then when they started.

Then came the cycle of getting the guns back to stock. Those winning the matches were back to stock pistols, more reliability, faster times and more accuracy.

The exception was high profile sights, mostly fixed.

The same thing occured in the early '90s when the department started allowing certain semi autos to be carried in place of our service revolvers.

Lots of malfunctions until they went back to stock 1911s (again with the high profile, fixed sights).

Just a thought.

Re: My combat precision journey begins

Kraig I appreciate your opinion but I have about 4k rounds through one of my full house 1911's without a hiccup and it's a amazing weapon. I am not doing anything to there guns but adding parts made to work, they are still GI rod and spring guns. I would take these guns down range in a heart beat

Re: My combat precision journey begins

I have a full house custom that I use to shoot limited 10 with in IPSC matches.Caspian stainless upper and hard chromed lower,Ed Brown match grade bull barrel with STI hammer and sear with SV flat trigger.I have 2000+ rounds thru the gun and have not had one stoppage(I shoot 200gr lead semi wadcutters). Most of the time if a 1911 is jamming it is due to poor quality mags.Theres no way a gun with a better barrel, trigger and sights is going to make you shoot slower or poorer.

Not the greatest pics but heres mine.

Shit dude someone stole parts off your gun... You should start locking your gear up better.

Re: My combat precision journey begins

Can you post the pic of you packing the finished pistol in a box with my ffl's address on the front c/o dogman? That would be the best picture of all.

This is the start of Joe's intervention

I have that safety, trigger and magwell on a custom 9mm 1911 and I absolutely love it!! You are going to be extremely happy with this setup.

Re: My combat precision journey begins

What about us without The Facebook? Pics please. I need to get on your list for my .38 super commander now that all this gun craziness is going on and AR's cost a million dollars.

Re: My combat precision journey begins

That looks to be a damn fine pistol in the making. I'm a 1911 lover and love colt series 70. That being said I have a hard time convincing myself to buy a custom carry piece.

In the event (God forbid) that I have to use my CC piece it will confiscated (more than likely even here in Tx) and I may not see it again.

Be that as it may....I'm still enivous.

Hey BigJoe can I get some seeds from your money tree?

Not going to post too many as some pro photos are coming but cannot say enough about Chris. One day he will be one of the greats if he keeps building guns like this

Joe, you have some great taste in firearms. Nice pistols, thanks for sharing!!

Every time Joe posts pictures of a gun, it's a beautiful thing. You have quite the collection sir.
