Rifle Scopes Zeiss Victory HT only $900: over already?

I know Zeiss has been revamping their product line this year but what happened with this sale? I saw them starting around $900 and higher mag models going up to about $1,250 or that ballpark. I'm under the impression it's being replaced with a higher magnification range but many of the prices are nowhere near this anymore. I understand that there are some big close outs and deals going on with several zeiss models but I'm not sure if this was just part of the norm or an exception.

I feel like maybe I should be kicking myself for not grabbing one when it got so low. I debated it, but figured maybe the HD5 line has come close and might be worth waiting to see how their newer products stack up (including any improvements to the victory ht).

Was this just a steal of a deal that was missed out on or are there still enormous discounts being had?

Probably just mispriced. They've never been mapped that low.

Now the duralyt on the other hand fits that price point.

I guess it's possible. They had regular 2k+ price above and sale price below in red. It was around 60% off. It certainly sounded absurd, but I've seen it happen from time to time (never with Zeiss though). If I remember correctly it was there for couple days. Honestly, at first I was convinced there was something I was seeing incorrectly.

Was not even in the market for the mag ranges they were selling, but I figured it may have been worth purchasing based on its value alone.

You may very well be right, sounds more logical than taking that big of a dive. Actually feel better if that's the case. It was a major retailer I don't normally shop with but I still have a gift card for them.
