Well, I am currently in the market for a low budget mil/mil scope for my CZ 455 American. I will be using this rifle for hunting and will be shooting distances of 25-250 yards maybe 300 if the rifle and I are capable.

I would like to stay under $400 even less if possible, right around $300 would be perfect.

What I would like to have in a scope:

  • Variable power
  • Side adjustable parallax
  • Mil reticle with matching turrets

I have been looking at the Weaver Tactical Grand Slam from Midwayusa.com and I cannot seem to find any information on the parallax. If anyone knows what the parallax on this scope is set at that would be great. Also with a 25 MOA base I am curious if I can dial in the distances that I will be extending too.

A few of the scopes I have been looking at are:
  • Primary Arms 4-16 FFP Mil/Mil
  • Weaver Tactical Grand Slam 3-10
  • Falcon Menace 4-16

Any information and suggestions on other scopes is appreciated. Currently I am using a Mueller APT which is nice, but I am growing tired of the MOA turrets.

Re: Trying to find scope for my .22lr

get a $10 walmart scope and use that good ole kentucky windage! LOL I'm no help on the scope issue but If you want to know a really accurate .22lr bullet go with the Aguila 40gr round nose or 38gr hollow point, subsonic bullets. My good ole 22lr savage can hit a 1" circle consistanly at 100 yards.

Midway has a BSA 4-14x44 Mil/Mil Scope for $250.00. While not a premium optic the glass seems to be pretty good. At least for the price.

I agree, I will never buy any BSA product. I really am scared to buy anything but a Vortex. If I have to I will save for another 6 months and just replace the one sitting on my CZ 527 and drop that one on my 455.

Probably your best bet.

Re: Trying to find scope for my .22lr

I was researching the same thing last week. Decided on the Weaver. There is a lot of information on it if you search this forum. I will have it this week to try out. I was concerened about parallax myself, but from what I can find from others who have them, it shouldn't be a problem at .22 ranges. There is also Lowlight's video reveiw on the midway site if you haven't already seen it.
