I just won a new Sig 1911 on gun broker. It's the STX model.
I had it narrowed between the STX&Nightmare.
Just wandering how well you guys that have an STX like them.
Thx fellas.

Re: sig 1911

Have 3 of the Sig 1911. The Ultra is my EDC. If you compare features with other brands, the Sig has a lot of features that cost you a lot of money. For the price, you get a great weapon. All of mine have been flawless with a variety of ammo and magazines.

Re: sig 1911

Thats awesome simmy. I've heard Sig was the best value in a 1911.
I've always been a Sig man. P220 for me. I, recently scored a couple 3rd
gen Smiths that are incredible. But, I've never owned a 1911.
Based on the P220 and the M400 Enhanced I have I pretty much knew my
first 1911 would be a Sig. Just not sure which one. The STX is a real looker imo.

Re: sig 1911

At the cost of sounding ignorant just what are the differences between the
Nightmare and the STX? I realize the Nightmare is a fast back frame
and the STX a beavertail frame. The Nightmare lists for $1242
and the STX $1213 from the Sig website. Grabagun had one STX left for $918
But, it unfortunately sold. I won the STX w/3 mags and a Sig paddle holster for $929 last night.

Re: sig 1911

I work with a couple of guys who carry the Sig 1911's and they love them. They are hard to beat for the price for the perks that they offer. One guy has put well over 2000 rounds through his Sig Tac Ops without issue.

Re: sig 1911

I was had a hard time choosing between a Sig 1911 carry and a 226 this morning...Ultimately, went with the 1911 but, I have a feeling that very soon, a 226 will have a home in my safe.

Word on the street is that Sig is looking at a 6 month backorder (That was from a FFL friend in Alabama) so, I strongly suggest if you have the itch, find and order now.

Re: sig 1911

I have a few sig 1911, and I have to agree that they are the best deal for 1911s out there. Ran without malfunctions straight from the box, and lots of options.

Re: sig 1911

I LOATHE anything to come out of new hampshire from cohen and co, however I will say that both sig 1911's I have owned have been great performers for the cost. I took a used GSR C3 in trade at a steal and my wife recently bought me a scorpion carry for $800 and with the options they have and the reliability I have seen out of the C3 (have only put 120 rounds through the scorpion so I can't really call it reliable yet) If I had to I would buy one of them over a kimber or a colt etc, and I say that as a guy who refuses to buy anything except Wilson or Ed Brown.
