Ruger...Take Action

Re: Ruger...Take Action

I wonder how many emails the automated email program for our politicians are getting. I would project about 0 of them are being read.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

My congressman here in north Louisiana, dr. John Fleming personally wrote me back. He stated that he could not and would not vote to take away any gun rights.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

This is a refreshing position Ruger is taking considering the last AWB . . .

Re: Ruger...Take Action

Thanks for finding. I'm sharing this with every pro 2a person I know. I hope the politicians read it but if they don't, it will add to the shear number of emails, letters, and phone calls they are getting.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

Ruger had caved during the first AWB so I am surprised that they are going this route. They must feel the heat from investing in the AR market and the potential of a MUCH more substantial ban coming.

IIRC, Ruger didn't just cave, Bill Ruger was instrumental, in order to protect their arms. In addition, he saw no reason to have more than 10 rds in a magazine. But BR is no longer around . . . there is a new executive team.

Don't take me wrong, I am thrilled Ruger is taking this position.

Well, the cocksucker Bill Ruger is now dead. He wanted the ban because he felt it would boost sales of "his little rifle", the mini-14. Because 14 or 15 round mags were standard, he wanted that to be the limit. They didn't take his advice and went for 10 instead. Yeah, he was a sellout of highest order.

If they are taking a different stand, I may go do that just for the simplicity of it. I've already sent letters to all my congress critters.

Like I say, if you have time to write on here but not to write your representatives, you should be ashamed of yourself.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

Just did it, this is pretty nice. This should be put up on this site somewhere where everyone can see this. It doesn't just do the federal reps, it does ALL your applicable, uh, overlords. Local, federal, etc.

This is MUCH easier than scouring the net for them all and doing them individually. No excuse not to do this, you can tell by the last post how long it took me, and I was slow.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

Send this link to all your friends and tell them to protect not just the 2nd amendment, but all of them.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

No matter who is offering to do this anyone who had not already sent letters or emails should take advantage of this whether you like Ruger or not

Re: Ruger...Take Action

Everyone should do this but don't think it's all you should do. Phone calls and letters need to be written as well. Keep fighting.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

I wrote my Senators and Congressman telling them to not infringe on the 2nd Amendment, not matter what they call it - "Gun Control" or "Legislation to lower gun violence". I got a response from one of the Senators...

She thanked me for supporting her decision to support the re-institution of the assault weapons ban and "clip" restrictions. She said that she supports the 2nd Amendment but feels some "common sense" measures, like President Obama suggested are important in reducing gun violence.

WTF!!! What a joke.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

I did this prior to lunch, came back and saw I had 3 responses, 2 from senators and 1 from the governor's office, I was impressed by that.

I got about the same from Cantwell, generic response from Murray. I reply back with stats from FBI UCR etc. for all the good it will do!

Re: Ruger...Take Action

I agree with the idea but I don't agree with giving my address out after those assholes in New York published all the CCW names and addresses in the paper. I read where a house was robbed as a direct result of that info. You can contact your reps the same way on the NRA site. I am not sure if you have to give more than your email. I will check on that.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

One of the most efficient systems I have ever seen.

You just give them your name and address and based on your zip code, they find every relevant politician from the local level all the way to obama (a lot more politicians than you would ever imagine). Then they send them all a very well worded letter.

I didn't think much of it until I started getting replies from different levels of government. Got several replies so far, and no spam whatsoever.

Highly recommend this.

Re: Ruger...Take Action

This is a great thing to do, but be aware, if you send them a form letter they will send you one right back.

Taking the time to write a personal letter carries much more weight.
