This is for a Rem 700 short action.

Who makes chassis for this action? I'm considering both the Choate and XLR chassis, but I wanna make sure I'm aware of all options.

Thx.

Re: 6.5 Creed build - chassis options?

There is an entire thread dedicated to chassis systems available for this, use the search tool.

Hadn't seen that one before. Pretty decent price, too.

Thx.

Im not a big chassis guy but I have held and shot the McRee and it felt pretty solid, as well as being light and not too bad on the wallet comparably.

The XLR is another decent one thats not too expensive.

The Drake Strike 30 chassis is one of the best looking ones out there with just about every bell and whistle, but is admittedly not easy on the wallet.

KRG wiskey 3 is pretty nice

And of course the AICS is an old favorite and standard. If you look through the sale accessories you can usually find them used and in good shape pretty easily.

Re: 6.5 Creed build - chassis options?

Mine is riding in an AICS which is always a great option and there is no wait on it.

KRG's are very slick!

I have been very happy with my McRee chassis!

Re: 6.5 Creed build - chassis options?

Just as a consideration for you Were currently making a very custom 6.5 Creedmore with the Rangemaster Precision Arms Quadlite 4 lug action and the STRIKE DUAL 30 chassis system on our STALKER Gen 2 (G2) RPA Product line. Our customer asked for a 6.5 Creedmore with a 18" barrel to optimize for the 140 A-Max round. We should be delivering this system in the immediate future (next few weeks). If you need any technical information on this configuration, please let me know. Also we can build this configuration with the standard Remington 700 action under the STALKER 308 product line as well.

Re: 6.5 Creed build - chassis options?

Strike Chassis is just plain bad ass. I got to handle a long action version a few months ago and it's as nice as anything out there. You'll pay a pretty penny but you do get what you pay for.

Re: 6.5 Creed build - chassis options?

Here is a couple of things i looked for when selecting a chassis

Bolt must slide under cheek vs into it

Recoil lug, wanted something better than standard solution

Don't forget the Manners mini chassis. Standard style stocks with no pistol grip but has dbm and is bolt on like other chassis.

+1 on the Manners.
