Guys, cans are legal in my state. I am looking to thread my Rem. M24 clone, and mount a brake. Any suggestions? This is necessary due to recent neck surgery. 24" barrel, M24 taper. Thanks.

Interested in this topic too. Will be looking for a brake for my aac-Sd build soon.

Re: rem 700 . 308 brake

i just did alot of research on this recently...... you can look into the holland radial baffle... from all the reviews and input i got they all work just about the same (apa little jimmy and holland radial baffle).... the reason i ended up with the APA, simple it can be turned to match the barrel contour, and they offer a military discount....

i also looked into the surefire (they are what i use at work) but i drifted away from it....

Ops Inc 12th model. Requires barrel profiling on some rifles, but I love mine.

(On a DPMS LR308, which didn't require the barrel profile)

The can mount is a brake too.

I have the same gun and I used the RAD brake. Works great.

How much does the rad cost?

Re: rem 700 . 308 brake

dont get me wrong i used them at work.. they work well... i just dont like the way the surefires looked on the contour of the barrel i am going to when it sits in a XLR... the lil jimmy just looked cleaner... and functioned just as well if not better... plus i never plan on using a can... so there was really no need for it

plus to run some surefires you have to turn the barrel down to use them...at that point your married to the surefire....and i didnt like that

It's one of these...

I really like it. It keeps recoil and muzzle rise down.

Re: rem 700 . 308 brake

I went with the badger fte and have all my barrels threaded for the fte. So now I can put it on the gun I want and swapping it takes no time at all. It's a very effective brake in my opinion.
