What rifle ...build? 41.0 is ok.... But lots do vary so I would make 4 test rounds at hornsdys middle charge weight.,(I never start from the bottom) and see how they run. I'm running the 140 vld at 2755 with 42.3 h4350. Seated at 2.810" coal. I can't remember the ogive reading. Enjoy!!

So maybe start around 41.5 an work up in. 2 grn?

41.5 is a good place to start as its the listed factory load on the box. Different lots of powder will give different results but I have not heard of anyone using Creedmoor brass having pressure issues with that load.

Re: about to start loading for 6.5 cm

I have been running the 140 Amax with 41.9 of 4350 and Federal GM primers. My gun is a Remington 700 that has been trued with a 25" Bartlein barrel. The factory load is a little hotter than that. Truthfully, I had several different charge weights that grouped well.

Anybody play with the 140 Berger Hybrids in a 6.5 Creedmoor? I got some, and I am going to try working up a load tomorrow.

Dont shoot the hybrids but the 140 vld "regular" is freaking crazy accurate. .618 g1... Crazy. I'm looking at the Berger phamplet now. It says that you can run em long or mag length. Personally, I would load em long bc in my .30 cal rifles the hybrids shoot a hell of a lot better seated closer to the lands. You'll find your node from 42 to 43 grains. Or at least I did.

I was just at a lil gun store and they had sierra 85gr varminter for $16 a 100. Have any one tried these, thought. they might be good for yote or ground hog
