Re: lightweight eberlestock pack

Their new gun runner is the ticket for a small hunting pack. Works great for sporter style rifles. Ar's will be tight. A 30 round mag may not fit. I have never tried mine. I do not think
vertical for grip will fit either. Carried mine alot this fall and love it.

Re: lightweight eberlestock pack

My X3 is fairly light, but can still carry everything I need.

Re: lightweight eberlestock pack

On the Eberlestock website the weight of each pack is listed if you wanted to reserch it. The X3 is a nice smaller pack competed to the larger offerings. It's better than my phantom for smaller jobs.

Re: lightweight eberlestock pack

I have the gun runner. Just barely fits my R700 with bushnell 10x, b& c m40 stock, bipod, and alpha mag.

Re: lightweight eberlestock pack

I got into the same situation. Im only 44 but I have had a bunch of back work, and I was looking to lighten my load. I had an X1E and loved the pack but thought it was a little too big for a day hunt pack, and I cant lug enough stuff to stay out there overnight. So I sold the X1E and bought the H2 Gunrunner. Here are my findings. The X1E belt should be on the H2. Im ok with amount of padding on the H2 pack, but the belt is inadequate and I cant believe they put a belt like that on the H2. The h2 pack size and design is perfect for me. I can fit everything I need to in there and there is plenty of ways to lash more on if I need it. The H2 is roughly half the weight of the X1 and it is very noticable, big improvement for me. As DCR stated above, The rifle scabbard is snug on tactical style rifles, but it will accomodate any style rifle I have stuck in there. In conclusion, the H2 is better suited for most day hunters, I believe, I just wished it came the much better designed belt of the larger packs.

Johnny, I just bought my mother in law the X3 lo drag, I looked at a lot of the packs that folks were using. She's in her early 50's, hunts more than most and when she hikes she packing anyways. The X3 fit the bill, I got a Condor E&E pack as an accessory if she ever wants to use it.
