Rifle Scopes I'm undecided - help!

[Windage and Elevation]

I have a Springfield M1D Sniper Special, and I really love it. It is all original, and untouched. As most of you know, it came with a 4 power scope. I have a bolt gun (7mm Rem Mag) I use for long range work, but I keep thinking I need a good semi auto for that. I also own a Polytech M14 that is a sweetheart, but with NO optics so far. I can't see modifying the Garand in any way, as that seems blasphemous to me. Would you scope the M14, or what? What to do? What to do?

What make and model is the bolt gun?

Budget for the project is around $600.00. Bolt gun is a Savage 7mm Rem Mag. Not fancy, but real reliable.

Spend your money on ammo. It's the Indian not the bow.
