I have been contemplating the AI AX for a bit now. I played with the PSR and it was incredible to say the least especially the butstock. Then I saw what looked like a PSR covert package. Did anyone else see these or have thought. Jeff

Frank you got any info on the Short Action PSR? I.e. Date released or how much its going to cost?

Re: AI PSR at SHOT

I'm definitely interested in the PSR. Does anyone have one yet?

Re: AI PSR at SHOT

The suitcase rifle at Shot was a PSR rifle with the forend tube removed, chassis folded and a 20" Lapua barrel, all stored in a small Pelican case.

Re: AI PSR at SHOT

For those intrested in the SHORT action PSR.

This is still a concept for AI, so production, pricing, etc remains up in the air.

Although if your so inclined you can get the normal LONG action PSR with the full kit for around 16K........wow

I believe you are wrong...Scott from AI in a interview at SHOT show said, the short action is due in June+ this year. Additionally, he brought up a price, but it's still unclear of what he meant by it. I feel with the popularity of the PSR long action, AI is definitely bringing out a short action.

You are correct with pricing on the PSR long action, and that includes the barrels, mags, and bolts. At this point, there are very few people that know what AI will do with the short action version; will they be sold in kits or a standalone rifle?

Hopefully they do release the short action version this year, preferably around 7k

I am already saving for this rifle, do not bring my hopes down!

So at 4:01 on this vid, Scott Sigmund says that the PSR Covert Short Action kit will be "...slightly more than the current AX, high $4 to low $5 retail"

Did he misspeak, or what?

I'm not sure what kind of kit they could sell the ShortAction as compared to the LongAction. Unless of course they are going to give us the possibilty of a Short Action Magnum face so we could run say 300wsm's.......and that would be AWESOME!

Re: AI PSR at SHOT

Just to clear a little info since we've had some requests...

As Dave Tooley mentioned, the rifle in the case was a long action PSR with a 20" .338 Lapua barrel.

At this time, there is no information, pricing, calibers or otherwise for a S/A PSR rifle. The only PSR adaption we have been informed to expect this year is an AX chassis with the PSR rear end sometime during the second half of the year (and this was displayed at SHOT show). This chassis will be several hundred dollars more than a regular AX chassis.

Also, the base price for a regular AX rifle is between $6,500 and $7,500 (caliber dependent). I don't think a S/A PSR would be any less than a current AX, especially when the chassis prices will be more money for the new stock. But that's just a guess on my part.

Re: AI PSR at SHOT

Thanks for the information, Sean. Keep us updated. I've very interested (if and when) it is released. I may just have to hold off before buying.

Re: AI PSR at SHOT

That is an amazing system, I love the look and how compact it is. Wow.

So no rear end upgrade for current AX rifle owners?

Not that we have heard of. The folding piece is different for the PSR rifle stocks and not available for retrofit.. and the chassis appear to be the same.

If we hear differently, we'd definitely let it be known as I'd like that for my personal stuff as well.

I would be interested in putting one of those on my AX as well
