If you like horror, go see it. Not a blood and guts horror, Saw or Hostel, but a make you jump kinda movie, think Exorcist. Talked a couple of friends, who do not do scary at all, into going and had a blast watching them jump like popcorn!

Re: Mama

I cant stand scary movies but my girlfriend talked me into going this weekend UGH why do people like this shit is beyond me. The power of P!!

Re: Mama

One of the worst movies if not the worst i've ever seen. Shit that film was fucking awful. I knew better than to let myself get dragged into it.

Re: Mama

I'm a gluton for horror movies and watched Mama this past weekend. While it was ok, I think they gave away the character of Mama during the opening sequence when the father and kids stumble upon the cabin in the woods. If they kept her more of a mystery it would have peaked my interest more.

Blackops_2,
While not a definitive guide, I like to look at Rotten Tomatoes for ratings before I go. I know movies are subjective as we all have our tolerance levels but I tend to use the ratings just as a general guide of how it's going to be. Regardless of the rating, if I want to go see it, I'll see it as with this movie.

I do and i knew what it was going into it. One of our friends just wouldn't see anything else, two of us wanted to see broken city. Even my friend who was so set on seeing MAMA said afterwards it was horrible lol. I like horror movies but most of what's released now a days is generic crap. The last horror movie that actually scared me and was worth watching was the strangers. I love that they don't rely on CGI BS, pop ups, and audio stingers. Granted there are a couple of pop ups in the strangers it's minimal.

Re: Mama

My friend and I will just about see every new horror flick that comes out (still need to rent The Possesion) and I was pretty disappointed. I think they gave away the "monster" too quick, and the ending seemed very rushed and I didn't care for it, but I'm hard to please when it comes to scary movies.
