Just figured I would post an update. So far we have had nothing but great feedback from the field. There are several Gunsmiths from around the country that have built on them so far, if you are one of them, please feel free to chime in. Here are a few we have done here at Wolf Precision.

Sweet, thats all i have to say. I won't sleep well tonight.

Re: Some Bat Tactical Action Rifles

They look good Jamie! I still reminisce about the one you showed me when I picked up my rifle.

Any idea when some WSM bolt faced ones are gonna be available? I think I check your site every day for them to arrive, haha.

Re: Some Bat Tactical Action Rifles

I can provide a picture of my BTA before I sent it to the smith. It is one smooth running action!!

Thanks. That's what I am currently leaning to do.....keep going back and forth....

Bead blast the action and barrel

The action isn't going to be touched as it has the Nitride coating done, and I don't want to screw with how slick this thing runs. I'm telling you that it is flat out a pleasure to cycle!!!

Re: Some Bat Tactical Action Rifles

After doing them both coated and bead blasted. I think I like the Bead blasted look better. I also think it will help the barrel cool a little faster (not that big of a deal).

One really nice thing about the actions if you can switch bolts to change the bolt face, no gunsmithing required. You can go from a .308 to a 7wsm and change them back and forth at will.

Jamie,

I have a few questions for you.

A couple friends bought some Defiance Deviants for their custom builds. Both are a little disappointed because of the bolt binding issue on them. If I tried to cycle the bolt fast they would bind. One of the guys had a Surgeon 591 that didn't have a binding issue at all. Neither does my Surgeon XL.

So my question is do the BAT actions bind like the Deviant does when cycled fast?

I have handled a few BAT actions, all were smooth as silk, I may have to look into one or two of those, they look great.

I'm on the edge of ordering the bta. Does anyone know the difference in the tactical and the other actions ?

Thank you kevin

My Two Rigs with BTA's...

Jamie built both my rigs. I cannot say enough good things about them and Jamie's detail to building a custom rig. They are both TAC DRIVERS!

If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing!!!

Having a lot of fun with both of them.

I took the .223 for two gallons of water - one @ 900 and other @ 1000 yards. The .338 Lapua is only about four weeks old with three trips for load development. Extremely happy with how load development is going with the Lapua.
