I am rebarreling my remington 40xb and im looking for barrel recomendations. I have experience with rock creek barrels and they are at the top of my list. I am building this to be a tactical trainer and also shoot buffalo rimfire competitions locally. Talked to Brian Voelker today and he is going to do the work. Any recomendations and experiences would be great

Brian Voelker re-barreled my 40X with a Rock Creek barrel. Brian did a great job, good guy to deal with, rifle is very accurate.
One of the guys I shoot with has a Lilja barrel on a 40X, also very accurate.

What contour did you go with? Also i see they have 4,5, and 6 groove rifling. Im struggling to find what the benefits of each are

The barrel is coming out of the reciever at a hard left angle. Either the threads werent cut true or the reciever face isnt true. I dont know which one but ive had a few guys look at it and its definitely not right. Came that way from the factory in 1968. I figure might as well put a new barrel on it if im gonna spend the time and money to fix it

It shoots about 2.5 moa at 100 with wolf MT. Only decent ammo i have. But the barrel is so crooked that it makes a lot of contact on the left side of the barrel channel on my manners

Get a bartlein barrel. Not saying there is anything wrong with other manufacturers barrels. I own a kreiger that's a hammer. I just like the customer service when you call them. They take there time and make sure you get what you want and need.

Anyone ever use shilen barrels? Brian voelker said he likes lilja and shilen but right now they are hard to come by
