I need some help....I am not a reloader but I have a friend that is. We are trying to work up some Loads for a Ambush 5.56 1:7 18 inch Ar-15. It shoots the 77 gr Federal Premium match ammo very well( .62 ). But the match bullet is not good for shooting coyotes and such.....Can y'all help out?

I shot a load with the amax's today. They chambered without any issues and ran flawlessly out of a 20 rd pmag.

Are there other issues other than being possibly to long for the mag?

I've seen 75 A-max loaded for AR use, typically going pretty slow.

I'd still take a 60 V-max or 65 Sierra SPBT over 75 A-max for coyotes.

Chambered and ran flawlessly, what more do you need?

65gn sierra game king and 24.5 of Varget loaded to mag length.

If your feeling more spendy the 70 Barnes TSX bullets have worked perfectly on pigs and deer for me and function out of AR15's.

If you like to hear powder crunch,75 Amax and Ar's is it. They seat to far into the case at mag length, go to BTHP.

Just finished load developement on 24" AR. I did some research first and kept finding the numbers 24 grains of Varget. I spent a butload of time and come up with 23.1 as the magic load. For the hell of it, tried 24 on a batch. It shot as good if not better. Waisted a ton of time and now I am at 24 with Hornady 75 BTHP.
