I am thinking of switching over from Bobro mount to Seekings rings. I am wondering what is the typical return to zero (after removing and reattaching a scope) with rings vs one piece base in general and with Seekins rings in particular?

Thanks!

Re: Return to zero of rings (Seekins)

I was pretty surprised when i took my scope off (SB 3-12x50 w/ seekins) and mounted it back on that POA/POI did not move at all. I marked my rings ad base with a paint marker to align them and used a borka torque wrench to torque the rings down. Ive tried the same with a larue qd on an ar and had a shift of 2 moa left at 100y.

I am wanting to use the seekins rings and scope on 2 different actions in the same chassis. Anyone else had any experience??

No ring or mount set up will be 100% return to zero. Too many variables. Seekins are excellent products and my experience with them since the beginning of the company has been what Mike and Scud posted. Sometimes right on but sometimes I need to adjust .1. As good as anything out there.

Using a torque wrench, I'm usually within about .1 to .2 MRAD. I even took the barreled action out of the stock and took the scope off and when I put it back together I was only about .2 high and .2 left. Needless to say, I was impressed
