Guys looking for a good shop in or near central Pa that does laser engraving/ etching of firearms. I would like to have them do some custom engraving on a AR receiver and some friends want to have NFA markings put on theirs.

Thanks for your help

Re: Laser engraving/etching of firearms

If you were in east Tn I could help you. Your friends might want to double check if laser engraving is permissable for the NFA marking. I don't think it has the required depth.

Re: Laser engraving/etching of firearms

They were told that it is possible with the right laser machines

Re: Laser engraving/etching of firearms

There is a couple of companies that do it but you will have to mail it off. Can't remember their names off the top of my head, but shouldn't be too hard to google.

Re: Laser engraving/etching of firearms

I figured that as that is what I have been finding checking around If you find the names of someone that will or can do it let me know

Laser isn't deep enough for NFA markings. That will have to be engraved via CNC machine.

Re: Laser engraving/etching of firearms

For laser NFA markings you'll need to find a shop with a YAG fiber laser. For decorative markings, anyone with a CO2 laser can handle it. CO2 lasers work by bleaching the anodizing dye. YAG lasers ablate the metal. Most of use who do NFA compliant marking use a CNC engraving machine.

That's not exactly true...CADD Graphics does NFA engraving via laser, and it IS 100% legal...all of my lowers were done this way.

Re: Laser engraving/etching of firearms

These guys do nice work...my NFA stuff came out nice and well within spec. Quick turn, reasonable price and you can ship direct to them.
