Best place to backorder Colt AR's?

Guys,

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I would like to find a dealer who has the ability to get Colt AR's in regularly and is fair in pricing, even if I have to wait until the madness subsides/back orders get filled to buy one at or near MSRP. I don't want to get stuck paying 1000 over retail on something. I keep putting off getting a Colt, and figure I may as well get in line now.

I was going to put a order in through Bud's but see they have riled some guys in the past.

I also imagine that the wholesalers and dealers are still sitting on these waiting for a ban to come through so they can really jack up the price on them, which I don't see coming, but that's my 0.02.

I'm hoping that as the demand subsides and dealers start to get them back in, especially as Colt is shipping them, that I can be in line to pick one up

Whittakers in Owensboro KY is still getting a few in pretty regularly. But, they aren't shipping them. People camp outside that place every night to buy whatever comes in on trucks the night before. Generally they get in 10 AR's a week from what I've been seeing. Thats all I've seen around here.

One of my coworkers just paid 2400$ for a bare bones 6920, no case, and 4 20rd magazines. Hes not exactly a gun guy, he got all wound up after hearing all the other gun people talk about bans and wanted a black rifle.


Gun shop 1 town over has a DTI, midwest 12" free float rail, magpul sights, and 2 30rd pmags for 1600$. I told him and he still said, I think Ill keep the colt. These are the kind of people who are the problem!

I have a suspicion that things won't get better until the whole ban rhetoric is put to rest again. Lord only knows how long that will take.

I wondered the same thing because I would really like to try to get a LE901 .308 carbine. I put my name on a waiting list at Ratworx.

I am not sure if that will ever come to anything but I know they used to have quite a bit of Colt AR inventory all the time prior to the current madness. They said they will not take a downpayment or "backorder" per se but they put your name on a list and call you when one comes in and your name comes up. We'll see I suppose

People are crazy $950 rifle at our walmart when they have them.

A couple of our local Wal Mart's got one per store yesterday, and were all gone today. I drove 40 minutes to try and snag one but it was being rang up when I got to the counter. I'm still pissed.
