Everything I have heard about Vortex, you could not go wrong if it offers everything you want and need. The warranty+ price would give a strong nod to the Viper.

I am running two of the 6-25x50 ffp milrad PST's, and for the money, they rock. Taken to 850 with perfect tracking on my 300wm. With their bullet proof, no questions warranty you can't go wrong. I will be buying more of their glass, for sure.

Re: Got it narrowed down to 2...

Sorry, but from personal experience, the viper pst can't even begin to breath in the same air space as the Leupold mark4 when it comes to glass quality - period. And next to holding and returning to zero, glass quality is of the utmost importance when it comes to choosing a scope. The only thing the pst offers that cannot be achieved on that particular Leupold is an illuminated reticle. . An illuminated reticle don't mean shit when you can't even see what you're looking at clearly anyway.
Zero stop and turret count can easily be done on any Leopold, cheap. And they do offer an illuminated reticle.
Honestly, the two scopes are in two different classes.

How is that any better than the Vortex? </div></div>
Features wise, is not. But glass may be slightly better(no personal experience with that, but since I would have been more inclined to compare my pst to a millet i can only imagine the Bushnell is better).
If you are even considering the Leupold and can afford it, it is the clear choice here. Tons of features on a scope are useless if you have to compromise on glass quality.

PST = made in Philippines

Bushnell Elite Tactical = made in Japan

What more do you need to know?

Re: Got it narrowed down to 2...

If you were going to compare the Leupold to a Vortex scope, I would compare it against the Vortex Razor.

With that being said, I went Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 MIL/MIL FFP. My budget didn't allow me to venture past $1k. If it did, I would have gone with the Vortex Razor (still might).

Re: Got it narrowed down to 2...

Im not sure about the PST anymore. Did you guys see the thread where the reticles are slanting when they bring the zoom down?

I haven't, but certainly curious if this has been occurring with the psts..

Re: Got it narrowed down to 2...

Of those two. Leupold. I've shot with both and I feel as if the mk4 is built much better. But if it were my choice I'd go with a swfa 5-20 or bushy hdmr although I've never used the bushy.
