i have the SWFA now, good scope, but not a huge fan of the dot& diamonds...
and really dont like the stiff parallax and power adjust...
thinking if i want to sell/trade
same price tags...
HDMR's have the G2 and H59 +
SWFA is 10mil turrets +
HDMR has turret lock +
not sure who has more adjustment..
HDMR is 34mm, so i will need new rings

Re: SWFA VS HDMR?

I have both (3 DMRs and 1 SWFA). I completely agree with you about the reticle choices. The G2 and Horus reticles are what initially attracted me to the Bushnell scopes. Utilizing a 20 MOA rail, the DMRs give me an average of 21-22 mils of elevation left over, while the SWFA has 18.6 mils. Could be the benefit of a 34mm tube or just a difference in my mounting setup. As far as clarity and glass quality, I cannot put one scope over the other. Both track well, reliably return to zero, and have plenty of parallax adjustment out past 1K. Hope this helps.

Re: SWFA VS HDMR?

I'm very happy with my HDMR and really do feel it's one of the best options out there in its price range. The glass quality is very good. I can't compare it to the higher end SWFA SS line but the HDMR for sure is better then SWFA's standard line and IMO is right on par with the Nightforce offerings I've looked through.

Re: SWFA VS HDMR?

I seem to recall when I was looking at the diffrences the SWFA had slightly more internal travel at 30 mils while the HDMR had something like 28. Really though I think either of these scopes are great options for you. If you like the reticle more on the DMR go that route.
