Anyone having issues finding .223 brass. Assuming due to the circumstances of whats going on at the moment, do you think it will be hard to find in the future after issues settle down? Or do you think it will settle back down with un-gouged prices?

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

Yea they are sold out also I got your edit... I may try to hook up with Hurlburt field small arms range, or try the local police dept's here.

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

I'd have to say with recent sales of guns, it's going to be hard to find for about 8 months or so. Loaded ammo also, so many new buyers, every one is going to need a stash.

www.topbrass-inc.com
is another place to keep trying, you'r about going to have to search daily!

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

it's a fad. will be easy to find soon enough but maybe with some cutbacks in mil spending, maybe not as much milsurp around in the future..

www.thebrassexchange.com is local in ATL and goes to a lot of the gun shows.

Legally, they cannot give it to you.

If you need a bit to get through the dry spell I can help you out. You shoot at Hurlburt?

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

Just hang out at the range for a day and pick up the brass from all those new ARs.

Easy cowboy, that can be seen as a WTS ad, and will get you a time out.

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

I have a couple 5 gallon pail's full, but can't sell it south of the border.
They'll be going for scrap in March.

If you can't sell it how about just giving it to me for shipping charges?

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

This is the way to do it.

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

Have you checked craigslist? There is/was a guy in my area selling processed 223 brass for $ 70.00 per 1000.

The pictures looked good. They were supposedly resized, deprimed and tumbled.

I did not buy, because he stated once fired, but then told me they were range pickups all mixed headstamp and 223/5.56.

I did not buy because I did not think he could gurantee that everything was once fired. Might not be a big deal to some and probably shouldn't be to me, but it is.

You don't want any brass I may leave at the range.

I thought about doing this but I didn't for a couple reasons:
1) The range is almost about a 45min drive.
2) The panic has spread to reloading. I figure all the new reloaders are desperate for brass right now, and so like me they all have the bright idea to sit at the range all day in the hopes of scoring free brass.
3) I do not care to fight with a basement dwelling mouth-breather over brass, especially since I have a shitload anyway. It is not worth my time and effort to potentially come home empty handed and pissed at some dude who dropped several hundred dollars on a reloading kit but only has enough components to load <10 rounds.

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

I just tried it with my home address in AZ, a Houston address and an address in Georgia, it seems to be working now.

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

Yep - That now works. Ordered just 1 and it looks as though there are more available.

Thanks much.

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

Just a note back that I have already received my order of brass from slashK site mentioned above...pulled out the caliper and checked a few and all looks in order. Primer pockets are not cleaned but that was not part of the description on their site anyway.

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

Keep checking the forums. Check here and thehighroad thefiringline etc. there are also no high post counts required to sell if you are on that side of the market

Thanks for the positive review.

Unfortunately, we are out of this now for the foreseeable future...

Re: Problem finding .223 brass

For years and years nobody wanted to take any of the 1F brass home after matches. Couldn't give it away.

Run matches in what I will call 'peacetime.' You'll be able to fill a hot tub with 5.56 brass every year.
