Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

Very cool, I'll have to try and get my hands on one!

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

Why wouldnt the design fold to the left side of the gun so the butt-stock wouldnt have to be relieved for the bolt handle?

Based on bolt handle size and where Action A puts the bolt handle versus Action B, that bolt handle isnt going to land neatly in the butt-stock relief for every rifle...

Also, from the looks of the pictures posted by Trevor, you could not shoot this chassis from your support side without either breaking your cheek-weld between shots or busting your nose to the bolt handle....

My guess is that it folds to the right so that the stock locks the bolt in place while the stock is folded so that the bolt doesn't get knocked open when transporting the gun.

Possibly, that is with the Tac-50 version though. Bolt wouldn't come back as far on different actions with smaller calibers. I wonder if it is actually necessary to pull the bolt all the way back to extract the fired round and load the next one from the magazine in the configuration that Trevor posted.

The stock folding to the right is actually a feature that was designed into it on purpose. It's designed to capture the bolt handle to prevent it from opening accidentally. It also, and to me this is the more important part, provides a smooth side on the left of the rifle when being carried with a sling. The version I got my hands on a while ago had the ability to fold to the left though by rotating the pivot block.

This would be a nice feature... Ive never heard any AI 2.0 users having any problems with thier left folders...And theres plenty of them around.

And again, Ide be suprised if all your different bolt's for all your different actions let that butt-stock close how it is intended to close, but if you can switch around the pivot block... Problem solved!

Has anyone laid eyes on the chassis in a Magnum, Long or Short action configuration, with an acion in it?

Impressive usage of quoting posts, however you contributed nothing, still par for the course I see.

Anyways, I'm interested in the SH edition of this, I have a barreled action that needs a home. </div></div>

Maybe if you read LL's quote that he would update us when it was ready to announce, you would not have to ask the question.

Or, as he also stated that he does not have access to a TAC50 action to do any further testing of the chassis. That it seems merely a test piece to see and feel what they look like.

All I did by quoting was help you verify that LL seems on top of it. I am sure he won't forget to keep us in the loop.

Relax.

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

Anticipation is a bitch!!

I should start eating PB&J's so I can have the funds ready for the limited release.

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

I made a lot of calls on this chassis/manufacturer last week and heard that a long action version is 6 weeks out from being shipped and a short action is to follow in and around February... I definetely want a short action!

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

It will be in Modern Warfare 3. Remington brought into the office here at IW for us to play with.

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

Guys, just a quick (maybe stupid) question.

Are the TAC-50 barreled actions available anywhere to purchase, so one could get this chassis for it, or do you buy a complete Tac-50 and dump the supplied stock?

Thanks

Robbie

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

I don't understand why you would want a flat to bolt gun that requires you to mount the scope a half inch or so higher. That said it does have a lot if sex appeal

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

How big of a difference does it make for sight picture? Or cheek weld?

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

Next to none since the cheekpiece raises and lowers......

Guys
Also you might want to check out TACTICAL WEAPONS Mag that just got released. We're on the cover and its a really good read on our .300WM system.
Send me an email if you have any questions.

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

Read the article, got my son a subscription to that magazine for christmas, he is 16 and he thought that chassis was the nicest he has ever seen! Just ordered him a Rem 700 aac sd 308 2 days ago and he is awaiting impatiently. He now wants this chassis because of this article! My response to him.... Save your penny's, don't get married and possibly sell your soul because it'll be pretty expensive, maybe a down payment on his first car! I was right. Now we can both dream of having this chassis on our rifles Very Cool!

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

I bought one, Drake was great! They are expensive but its incredibly solid. Very comfortable as well. Had mine dipped in multicam and it looks sick. Chris Drake will certainly take care of his customers, both during and after the sale.
Thanks again Chris

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

you are certainly right regarding appearance strike33. They are sick looking stocks IMO, the nicest in appearance. Yours will be over the top after dipping it! Good luck with the stock and show some pics afterwards!

Re: Cadex Chassis - * First Look MSR Plus

I got one too, I love it. I am still waiting for a price on the SA magwell for the 33? It seems Cadex doesn't really care about selling anything but the whole chassis, I don't blame Chris, he was pretty easy to deal with. I like the fact that I think I'm the only one with one around here.
