I'm getting ready to send off a .308 to be rebarreled at 20in with a 1-10 twist. What kind of velocities should I expect with 208 to 220 grain bullets?

My hope is to use the Varget I have. What are your powders, grain weights, and velocities?

Re: Shorty velocities

My guss is that you be happier with heavies with a 26" barrel than with a 20" barrel. Heavies need the longer barrels to get the velocity they need to outpace the 175s or 155s.

The primary purpose of the 1:10/220 combo is subsonic.

2300 with a 220 would be perfectly adequate!

Re: Shorty velocities

I figured that would be the case.

The 20s seem to be a pretty big hit right now.. so I have high expectations.
