I recently placed my order with Dustin on a GAP-10 and wanted to pick up some spare parts as well (bolt, etc.,). He suggested they pretty much don't recommend building a spare parts kit since the gun is custom, just send it back in for service.

Does this make sense to you more experienced GAP-10 users or do you keep a few parts on hand? Thanks.

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

Makes sense to me. You shouldn't need any spare parts for awhile and if something breaks prematurely they'll probably take care of you provided you didn't do something retarded... and in some cases even then they will still take care of it lol. George knows all about helping retarded people that break shit... Thanks George

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

Yup, that would be me in the retarded category. Thanks!

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

Broker, before I do something stupid can you tell me how to get the firing pin retainer pin out of my bolt carrier. My N6 just had a plan jane cotter pin like all other AR-15 bolt carriers. This thing a whole different animal and wont budge.

It's just a plain cotter pin in the GAP-10 BCG. Can you post a picture because that doesn't make sense...

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

Pics are up. FYI, I just got my rifle on Jan 222nd. Maybe GAP changed their bolt carrier design.

I guess I've been married too long. If you force you may spend the next few nights sleeping the the couch.

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

Ive spent plenty of recent nights on the couch lately.....Just take something and push it out from the right side of the bolt, and the pin will stay captured in the bolt carrier.

Wow... I don't know what that is but it's not the same BCG that I received. I would call GAP or pm George here on the hide.

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

I have one of the first ten GAP-10's and that BCG is different than the one mine has. as fore needing spare parts I have over 2000 trouble free rounds on mine, haven't needed a spare part yet.

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

thats different from mine too....I wonder why they changed?
and who makes that one?

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

I thought GAP-10's were using an Armalite style BCG?

This is definitely a DPMS style BCG in this image.

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

1/16 " Pin Punch, tap it out.

We switched from Armalite BCG's a while ago, they could not supply enough of them. Still have some on order and have not recieved them so we switched, the current ones are not DPMS but do resemble them. They are made here in Missouri.

As far as Spare Parts Kit. Other than an Extractor spring what parts do you think we would put in the kit. Better so sent it here for fixing. So far I see no parts showing any record of failing.

Re: GAP-10 Spare Parts kit

I had the same doubts with my JP BCG since it also uses a split pin. A tiny tap with a punch confirmed it wasn't some fancy screw.
