Howdy guys, I just wanted to share a great experience.
My edc knife is a Kershaw Leek.
I bought my father in law one not long after I got mine. His got accidentally run through the laundry, and he had removed the blade lock so it came open easily, breaking off the tip of the blade in the washer drum and chewing up some clothes. I looked up Kershaw and emailed them explaining the situation. The knife retails around $50, so I didn't expect much but was hoping for a reasonable price for replacing the blade. They emailed me back saying the cost would be $10 since this wasn't a defect, and I could send it in with a check or credit card instructions.
I sent in his with mine (mine just needed to be resharpened and have the speedsafe freshened) on a single warranty form, with instructions to call me with the total cost of repair (in case they needed any extra for the missing lock on my FIL's). About 3 weeks passed and I got a package in the mail with a brand new knife, in a Kershaw box. I went ahead and gave that one to my FIL and figured on calling them to check on mine, surely I owed them something right? I kind of forgot about it but almost a week later got another package with mine, sharpened with a fresh speedsafe mechanism and all.
In summary, if you're looking for a knife give Kershaw a serious look, I couldn't be more impressed with their customer service!
