Hey Guys -
Wondering if any of you have any suggestions on a lighter chassis for my .300 Win Mag. I have a XLR chassis now but I am looking for something a bit lighter and more for long range hunting. Don't get me wrong I love the XLR chassis, but can be a pain when hunting. I have been leaning towards a McMillan but I am also looking into other options.

Re: Lighter Chassis

+1 on Manners Elite Hunter Stocks.

Or if you insist on keeping a chassis, check out Ashbury's Saber Sporter chassis. They use quite a bit of carbon fiber to keep things light

Re: Lighter Chassis

absolutely.Manners carried over their 2012 pricing while Mcmillan increased for 2013. There is also a group buy going on

Re: Lighter Chassis

It has already been said, but I would go with the manner EH1 on the group buy, combine that with the mini chasis and you are ready to rock

Re: Lighter Chassis

It's nothing special. If you want to go that route, check out Bell and Carlson too.

Re: Lighter Chassis

I don't think the quality is there in comparison to the stocks you have been referring to, yes it only my opinion but i have had plenty mcmillans, and manners all were amazing, my Hs however. well its sold.

Re: Lighter Chassis

Alright thanks for the info. guys if anyone else has any suggestions that would be great I want to get as much info. as I can before I place an order.

Re: Lighter Chassis

My choice would be a manners, the price is hard to beat.

Re: Lighter Chassis

McMillan all the way. Fit and finish will be right on the money.

Re: Lighter Chassis

on thing for sure boltfluter you wont get an argument out of me there, only reason I said manners was because there prices seem to be more reasonable, and they are very nice stocks as-well.

Re: Lighter Chassis

Alright thanks again guys now what is your take on thumb hole stocks. That was my reason for leaning towards McMillan. I have shot some rigs with Thumb hole stocks and they are comfortable for me. My question is whether or not the thumb hole serves any other purpose besides comfort?

Re: Lighter Chassis

The Manners and KMW Sentinel claim a more natural trigger finger location/ reach with their thumbholes. I personally think the Sentinel is one of the finest stocks out there, and with the included DMB its a fair deal.
I like the new Mcmillan Tactical thumbhole, although the square forend turns me off a bit.
Check out the Sentinel and Manners T5/T5A
