I just got a backorder from the Glock Store and this letter was inside. I can't see why this guy would say this if he didn't think it was true but 600,000+ guns on backorder seems like an awful lot - R

Hmmmm. I have a blue label G19 on backorder that was supposed to be in stock but wasn't apparently. Oh well, guess Ill just have to wait awhile.

Don't think I would want to buy another Glock during this crunch time. Product reliability is likely to suck with such a push to get caught up. The number he stated is the same amount that our Glock distributor relayed to my shop last week when I was trying to place my quarterly shipment order.

Re: Any truth to Glock being 600,000+ guns behind?

From what I've been told by two Glock employees that is a conservative estimate.

Re: Any truth to Glock being 600,000+ guns behind?

I cant get a Glock 19 from any of the LE dealers in my area. What does that tell you? Those that can buy Glocks at LE price are hoarding them? LOL...

It's got to be the sketchiest looking photoshop job I've seen in a while. Looks like someone got creative in MS paint.

Notice how the shadow from the "crease" in the paper doesn't effect the photo in the upper left corner? You can also see pixelation around the logos at the bottom. They should be more crisp, but the pixelation hints that they were cut from a low res photo and pasted into the doc.

It's dumb shit like this that keeps people in panic mode.

Now if the OP would take a picture of the original document, I might believe him, but not as it stands.

I just got off the phone with Glock.

They do have "substantial back orders" and while he wouldn't pin it down to a number, he said that they are "still within our typical 90 to 120 day build time" for new orders.

Edit: I called one of the local distributors one of my FFL friends uses and the sales manager for our region is saying that they are in the negatives by tens of thousands of units on many glock models (e.g. have sold to FFLs but are still pending stock to fill the order). Still, tens of thousands is not 600,000 and Glock is saying they can clear their existing backlog in 4 months or less.

Wait, you have a penguin on that desk. Ergo your credibility is nil.

Well, looks like crow for dinner, sorry about that OP. Didn't seem legit, at first glance.
