I will be ordering a barrel soon for one of my Glocks so it will be ready when my Blackside comes in. I would like some opinions on which would be better to suppress and your reasoning behind it, not just because that's what you use.

So far the main thing I have thought about it the 19 because it would allow for a tad less powder burn, which would in turn offer less chance for a round to go super sonic.

The reason I want to use the 34 is how much nicer the trigger is

Re: G19 or G34

I didn't know they had longer barrels for 34's to get or have threaded....
what ever trigger set up you got on your 34 you can do on your 19.
I would do the 19... it'll look pretty tacticool with a threaded barrel on it... the 34... I can't imagine it any much longer than it already is, but you never know I guess....

Re: G19 or G34

FWIW, my 124gr handloads are subsonic out of my G17. 4.1gr Titegroup and a 124gr RN FMJ from Precision Delta. I actually don't recall much difference in velocity between the two guns. Maybe 50 ft/sec ? I'd have to dig out chrono numbers but I recall it being minimal.

Get a threaded barrel for both

If you don't have both guns, get both guns

Re: G19 or G34

The 19's trigger is easy to make better, problem right now is finding a glock for the glock price.

Just pop in the a lone wolf 3 pound connector and change the trigger spring and your golden. 2 minute glock trigger job.

The 34 will give you a longer sight radius out of the box and a fuller grip with a higher flush mag capacity. Either trigger can be replaced quickly.

The 34 may be easier to find then a 19 for a cheaper price right now.

Go with a lonewolf barrel

Re: G19 or G34

I just picked up a G34 LWD threaded barrel off gun broker for $119 shipped. He had 9 in stock. I'm going a different route and giving the Mako glock scope mount and Vortex SPARC combo a try.

If you are LEO or Military there are many 19s and 34s available out there.

Re: G19 or G34

I guess I didn't make it very clear in the original post, I own both the 34 and 19. I only want to buy abbarrel for one though because I am going with KKM and they are a bit more than a lonewolf. My biggest concern is if one would be more reliable than the other suppressed.

Re: G19 or G34

I've never had a problem running factory subsonic ammo, suppressed or unsuppressed, from either platform. The G19 is the "do all" of the Glock pistols so if I were to roll with one of them that would be it. The 34 is a long beast with a suppressor hanging off the end of it.

Re: G19 or G34

I have all the 9mm variants but I like the fullsize grip of the 17/34 the best so I purchased a threaded barrel for my 34. Now I'm just waiting for Gem-tech to get 1/2-28 pistons back in stock for the Blackside.

I have a threaded G19 as well as a G35 with a threaded 9mm conversion barrel. The G35 is a lot quieter and it seems to cycle slower. The G19 can still make my ears ring. I'd go with the 34.

I use an Osprey 9mm and 158 grain subs. The conversion barrel was lone wolf. The 35 was also way more quiet than my USP 9mm,
