Wolf Precision 338 Lapua 1000 yards

Well today I broke out the 338 Lapua with a friend of mine who also has a rem 700P 338. He had to leave early so I shot a 6 round group on his target since he had a bigger orange bullseye.

I've had a lot of groups sub 5" and this was really impressed me as well. Rifle now has 1010 rounds through it.

I only fired 6 before this and the 6 shown in the pic. The first 6 were good, but it was slightly foggy and we couldn't really get a good hold for awhile.

Lapua brass 7x
H1000
92.0 gr.
Berger 300 OTM

It was maybe 25 degrees out and snowy but the wind was light.

6 rounds at 1000 yards.

I continue to be impressed by these berger bullets.

Yes he does, I'm very pleased with it. I don't even really shoot it anymore at 1000. I just get it out once in awhile and most always is a great group. I'm trying to get out to a mile in the spring!

I was just mostly testing accuracy to see how it did with 1000 through the barrel.

The other rounds are from my buddies 700P. It doesn't like the bergers at all and he found a decent load with 300 SMK's, but I keep telling him to get a bartlein ordered!

Very nice! Got a .338 norma mag on the way. Built by SAS, hope I can get it running like yours!

Bartlein 1-9.75 twist finished at 28". Bergers are around .010 off the lands. They shoot best around that depth, at least for me.

Jamie builds a nice rifle and is a great guy to deal with. Looks like yours is no exception. Nice shooting.

I just got back from Reade again. Rifle now has 1250 rounds through it. I bought the Hornady OAL gauge and modified case to check my throat length. I also started pointing the 338 hybrid bullets with the Whidden pointing die. It seems my length grew some, but I'm not sure as I never used the gauge before. These were loaded about .012 off the lands. OAL around 3.900. I go to the ogive so the OAL varies some. Anyways seems it's still shooting well. 6 rounds. 5 were in 2.9" group, the 6th opened it up to 4.4. I made a target out of a paper plate and painted it It was 32 degrees and snowing so I needed a bigger aiming point than my usual 3" paster.

There are two holes at the very top almost through the same spot. Battery is almost dead on caliper so it was blinking on and off and didn't make the picture haha. Aiming point was right at the top center of the target.
