Haven't seen the new model, but my old 10X42 have been superb, lost in the snow/ice (weeks but were returned by a guide, eventually), he didn't know they had a rangefinder. For my envelope, they are near flawless. I paid $1542 shipped, very worth it.

I was hoping someone on the hide has one and would do a review on the new Leica Geovid HD-B soon. I have a Vector IV but scared to take it out of the country.
There is a copy of the manual on Leica's web page. The limit the unit will read out on the 12 preprogrammed ballistic setups is 875yds. It will calculate and read out to 1000yds on custom setups (which you input via an SD card)
I'm glad I waited for the Bushnell one miles. I can't imagine the Leicas having that much better glass than these. Even if the glass is better it surely doesn't constitute the 3x price tag. As far as I'm concerned the ballistics program in the Leica is worthless without the ability to measure wind. No one will be replacing their Kestrels and iPhones for these. As soon as the Kestrel Applied Ballistics comes out, we will all be leaving our iPhones at home.
