I am reloading for a .300 blackout and have started using the 220grn round nose bullets because they are cheaper, and realized that I have an issue with feeding. It seems as if the plain lead tip is snagging on the lugs on the barrel as the bolt is trying to cycle the next round. What can I do to fix this? Polish sharp edge off the lower lugs? Seat the bullet deeper?

Let me know what ya think guys. Thanks!

after the next round, but it cycles fine with the HPBT so i dont think that it is a pressure issue, and sometimes it will go three or four rounds witht he round nose without jamming.

I have run hundreds of the 220 RN's thru my S&W M&P and have never had a single bullet mis-feed or fail to cycle. Overall length of my rounds is 2.250. I use 10.5gr of A1680.

Re: Gimme your thoughts on this....

I figured out that the hornady RN copper jacket comes up higher than the sierra and catches on the lugs of my barrel when trying to feed. Just a hair of dremmel work to take of the sharp edges and bingo! Thanks for the help!
