A2 style sights

Re: A2 style sights

Are you looking for a .308 based 6/3 sight or what? White Oak has some that are based on click count in half and quarter MOA, and there's others out there that are half MOA increments that you may find the wheels alone for. Creedmoor Sports has a nice one that is 1/4 MOA.

Redmanss,

You know that might be the best thing right there. Keeping it in moa or mil and not calibrating it to one caliber/bullet. Every time you want to change your loading, your wheel is off.

Re: A2 style sights

Any drum will work, if there are finer MOA ones, those might be nicer, but those numbers on there really don't mean anything. What we used to do is put tape on the drum and mark the ranges ourselves after we had enough data. You can laminate it too. You can set it up to start at 100 that way and go to 600+ with a regular 8/3 A2 sight. And you could do it in any caliber you like. We used to teach SDM's to do this.

I think I recall seeing one that was generic and designed to be filled in with your own data, but it was a loooong time ago. If they make one, Brownell's will be where to look.

Hope that helps some.

Re: A2 style sights

strykervet,

Thanks. This kind of falls under the "why don't I take my own advice" thing. I'm always harping to get moa or mil scopes and not BDC's. Just know each click value or as you said tape and mark the drum you have.

Reason being is I was thinking of getting a standard A2 upper for my next build and putting a 6mm or another 6.5G together. With the vast array of performance with different bullets in those calibers it would be a real PITA to have to 'adjust off' of a BDC. Doping and marking would be the more solid way to go.
