I HATE ZERO STOP!!!!!!!!!! I got this MK6 from Leupold because I wasn't happy with the Mk4 I had (that's another story in its self)!

This new scope features their new zero stop turret and I can not figure it out, the instructions are garbage and don't help. In the old days you zeroed by loosening the set screw and spinning the turret back to zero. Now with the zero stop I can only get 20 mils out of the elevation before I hit the stop, when I follow the directions to "float" the dial I get about 2 more mils of elevation and then I'm done, I cant go any further. Can anyone offer any incite? I like the scope, great glass, nice and clear. After this week when my father in law comes to see the baby and shoot my toys I'm selling this thing, too complicated for this guy, upgrading to a premier, any way, ideas?????

DISREGARD, specs say that the scope has 26 mils of elevation, wow that isnt alot, the scope is mounted on a EBR M14, and Im out of elevation getting it to hit the bulls eye at 25 meters. WTF am I doing wrong?????

I just did the math too, I cant believe Ive ran out of elevation. The scope is on an EBR LRB M14 clone, but I utilized the stripper clip mount and sage chassis to mount the scope. There might be enough distance in height to throw it off. Im going to order the cantilever mount and go from there.

You have an excellent scope there. Im sure you'll find that its your mounting system. Good luck brother!

You have the same issue I had when I initially got it. When zeroing the rifle, loosen the "zero stop" screw and turn the dial - if I remember correctly - in the direction opposite of the movement you need. I.E: if you need 5 mils up, turn it at least 5 mils down, and then screw it back in.
Then, when you get your zero, set the zero stop as per manual ( loosen set screw, rotate down until stops, set the zero by the dial).
Once I got the system down, it's actually pretty easy.
It may also be a good idea to give Leupold a call. They helped me figure out how to work the zero stop.

Wasn't even really zeroing, just getting it on paper. I'm convinced the scope is fine. I just need a base like the sage cantilever mount, thank you for the ideas and hints.

The same style turrets are on my CQBSS. I know it isn't the "guy" thing to do, but read the instruction manual and follow it step by step. They aren't the easiest to zero, but when you do you will realize they are some of the best turrets on the market.

I read the directions, had them with me at the range. I have 20 mils of elevation, specs for the scope say 23 so I'm there. It is my mounting set up, just ordered the sage cantilever mount which should solve my issues.

It looks like you are on the way to resolving your problem. I have the LaRue LT104 mount and although the directions are minimal, I found the scope easy to zero and I am by no means a expert. Zero the scope, loosen the set screw, then set the zero stop.
If you run out of elevation or windage settings to zero the scope, loosen the set screw to re-set the zero stop whichever direction you need to go, tighten the set-screw, zero your scope, loosen the set-screw to re-set the zero stop and then you are done.
I find the glass on the Mark 6 3-18 to be exceptional, the best that I have personally owned anyhow, and I am really liking the Horus H-58 reticle. Identification of targets is easy with the 3-18 power and I expect that I will continue to greatly improve my marksmanship abilities with this fantastic scope.
