What bushing for Redding Comp 308 dies?

Re: What bushing for Redding Comp 308 dies?

measure a loaded cartridge (OD of the neck) and minus .001 to .002

You'll probably be in the .333-.336 range. Best to check your loads to confirm

You need to know the neck wall thicknesses for any particular brand of brass you'll be using, as they vary.

For bolt guns and about .002" of constriction:

Lapua: .336"

LC: .335"

Winchester (thick): .334"

Winchester (thin): .331"

Federal: .334"

RP: .334"

Shooting out of gas guns, knock off .001", generally speaking.

Measure a fired case out of your chamber and if the amount to get to your target diameter, is more than .005", you might want to get a step down bushing in the size of say .340" and run the brass through that bushing first, before moving onto the finial sizer.

This is mostly needed for looseer factory chambers with no-turn necks.
