Got my first Mike Lucas custom bore guide for my tac driver today. I must say that I am very impressed and Mr. Lucas was a pleasure to deal with! Now I know firsthand what some of the other Hiders were talking about...the other bore guides just don't compare.

So, a special thanks to Mr. Lucas and also to my fellow Hiders for directing me to nothing short of Grade A Quality!

@SniperUncle: Yessir! Just email him, let him know what you need and size/ type rod you use (ie, I use a Dewey 36C).

LOL! I have had about 12 or so back-and-forth emails with him and mine shows up as the one I posted...

Maybe he is so busy he needs two email addresses!!! LOL

I have 3 and like them very much. Having said that, I wish the solvent port was either in a different location or possibly the insert shorter so that when you add any solvent, none leaks out the back. I know, I guess I may be using too much. But I'd like to be able to insert patched rod, lock insert and then add solvent. How does everyone else deal with this? Sorry for the hijack.

I have about 1/2 a dozen of his guides including one for my 17 HMR. Lucan makes a great bore guide.

I don't use the solvent port as it is messy and I believe you get better coverage on the patch if you soak it prior to sticking it in the bore guide.

I believe "LoneWolfUSMC" had a Lucas Bore Guide in one of his barrel cleaning videos if anyone that doesn't have one wanted to see it...You won't be disappointed should you decide to have him make you one

I must have got lucky. I emailed mike on jan 27 and he said I should have mine on or before the 25th of this month.
