Just picked up and broke in a 12 Kx450f. Any recommendations for after market set ups. Suspension, exhaust, etc...

I race my 450 rmz stock except for adjusting sag and spring tension. I tweaked bars for position and thats about it.

Glad to see you are riding !!!

Are you going to race this year??

Prolly not. First time on 2 wheels in a while. Been riding and crossing quads last 8 years. Got a boner for the kx so flipped my 09 yfz and went for it. Completely different but it'll come back. Wouldn't mind getting my groove back though.

Awesome! Get your Sag set. Get a good baseline on all your clickers.

Already having that much power on tap, I can't see actually needing a full system and a tune...but it couldn't hurt anything!

I agree with above post you have more power than you will use for awhile. I would put money into suspension. Find out who the local guys are using and get it setup.

Yea. Ran the pussy map, for hard pack, during break in. Was pretty intense. I'll be running beast mode in the am though.

Get your forks tuned for what type of riding conditions you'll be riding . That helps more right now than more horse power. My son picks up 3/10 of a sec just in bike tuning.

Replace the chain immediately. Stock jap mx chains are shit, and will chew up your sprockets quickly.

Factory Connection did an awesome job on my last bikes suspension, definitely where my money would go. I second the chain and no chain lube (makes all the dust stick and eat chains), just wd40 to stop rust. Nice bike

I would have the suspension setup for your riding style and your weight/size, it makes all the difference. Similar to how you would setup a guitar or a rifle for a specific fit, it is critical to do the same on a bike to get the most out of it. Don't get too far into replaceing everything with aftermarket, focus on tweeking what'cha got. I raced motocross (intermediate and pro) and roadraced street bikes for many years, it is amazing how race ready some of these newer machines are. Many new bikes don't require a lot of aftermarket goods and suspension to be fast, but someone who is well versed in suspension setup can get you squared away, or do the research yourself and see if its something you can play with. When you get into re-valving suspension, it is something that would require sending it off, but there is a lot of adjustment that can refine suspension(dampening, rebound, spring rate adj, etc). As far as engine tuning, you can do some jetting changes to suit your riding style and the elevation you ride at. Do some research and see about adjusting your idle circuit, this can improve low end response. Again, lots of adjustments can be made with suspension and carb settings to get the most out of it with little to no money!
