So you have a stuck case in your die...........

Re: So you have a stuck case in your die...........

OR

You could use Dillon Dies with built in stuck case extractors.

On Lee sizing dies I have just removed the collet nut and "coaxed" the case out using the de-priming rod as a punch, along with a brass mallet.

After you have a stuck case it's also a good idea to review your case lubing regimen.

this is what i have for pulling stuck cases. Very easy and cheap way of getting it done. Works great.

Re: So you have a stuck case in your die...........

if that is your decapping rod/pin, then just the brass with some snips... you will be out the 1pc of brass.

Lee die, run the brass and pin back into it, tighten the nut, lower the arm

Re: So you have a stuck case in your die...........

Same thing works with Hornady Dies. For case removal you can make your own with a washer, a short piece of pipe and a bolt with the correct tap. Not as pretty as the RCBS but works in a pinch. A self tapping screw, a drill bit and an automotive dent puller may also get the job done.

Re: So you have a stuck case in your die...........

Friday night I cleaned my Forster BR FL die .308 and neglected to pre lube & wipe it after cleaning. I lubed cases as usual and launched the first case up in there. Oh shit!!!!!

Saturday I found this thread, which posted first on Friday, and I don't have a stuck case anymore

I put together my own DIY tool from hardware and 6mm x 1" screw, I have 6mm tap. Made my own puller and put die in the Dillon upside down. Easy money!!

Then to get neck bushing/decap rod out of case I simply cut case base off with Dremel and cut off disc.

I love SH!!!!

Re: So you have a stuck case in your die...........

put it in the oven at 300 for about 10 minutes...a rag, pliers and an oven mit. grab the case with the oven mit, wrap the pin with a rag (just so you don't mar the pin) and pull with the pliers. ((you may be able to pull it with your hand)).

I've also put the case in the freezer for a couple hours and was able to remove the pin by hand.

Re: So you have a stuck case in your die...........

I had to get one of those from Midway once. Worked great.

RCBS kit works great for me. On mu Lee dies I just use the decaper to remove the stuck case the lube the case put it back into the die , tighten the nut and your gtg.
