I've got a 5-25x56 SB. It seems to only have 13 mils of elevation on it.

I've mounted it on a 45 moa base. However, I feel that the adjustment range is not enough.

PLease advise how to properly zero the scope. The manual doesn't really make sense.

Also what is the use of the yellow numbers on top of elevation turret of the white numbers at the bottom if it only moves 13 mil ( looking at white numbers)

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

Seriously?

You "feel"?

Have you actally counted clicks?

Do you understand what the "yellow numbers" are and how the Double Turn turret works?

Do you know what the total internal travel of the scope is in Mils or MOA and where your reticle may be in relation to that range of adjustment?

Have you worked out how to loosen and reset the turrets?

Have you tried turning the turret up beyond "white 13"? What happened?

Sorry to ask these questions but, from your post, it sounds like you're just staring at the bloody thing and looking at the pretty painted numbers wondering WTF it's all about.

or maybe...like that pesky AW mount you had a problem with.....these SuB scopes are vastly over-rated POS?

On second thoughts..I tell you what...you're right, they are crap.....send me the scope and $100 for my inconvenience and I'll make sure you never hear from it again

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

Read the instructions carefully!

It all has to do with the position the slotted round thing under the elevation cap is clocked to. If it's not riding "on" the little pin protruding from the turret housing it's stopping on that pin limiting travel.

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

thanks steve, I'm still not sure what you mean though. Is the little black triangle supposed to change to a yellow one.

I'm not sure if my turret is a single or double turn. It has the white and yellow numbers

Please list a step by step instruction of what to do when from zeroing to accessing the full 26 mil elevation

thanks

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

The yellow indicator pops up when you hit the second revolution. Then you use the yellow numbers instead of the the bottom "white" numbers.

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

Manage to zero at 100m , with the black flag showing. However now when I turn the turret clockwise, towards yellow the reticle is actually moving lower instead of higher.

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

Are you looking through the scope at a borescope? Because moving the reticle does move down relative to the line of the bore to move the point of impact up.

Why don't you fill out your profile. Someone could meet up with you and help.

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

thanks guys. I'm sorted now. I couldn't get over the clockwise turrets after years of using American scopes.

Also figured that the reticle needs to move down when I'm increasing elevation

Wish me luck when I take this item into the field

Must be tough...if you couldn't understand the manual.

Easy to miss that the numbers go up from 0 to 13 as you rotate the turret clockwise

May be SuB should screen the elevation with arrows like they do on the windage to help?

Sure! Just make sure you know which way round the AW goes...being Brits, AI missed out marking that on the rifle too.

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

warbird, I think you misunderstand my posts.....

There are two links to SuB that give the OP all the information he needs on the scope plus some relevant questions on his scope that he should know the answers to.

IMHO that is far more helpful and a far more valuable learning experience than spoon feeding him answers that require no effort or understanding on his part.

Ultimately spoon feeding is of no long-term value to the student.

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

I think mr Basra is either being elitist or has other issues.

The S&B scope is totally different operations compared to Leupolds etc

A bit of straight advice instead of ridicule could have saved me time and luckily I didn't damage the scope.

</div></div> true!

Re: Schmidt bender PM 2 help

Only "issues" I have are:

1) The failings of an education system that leaves someone unable to understand simple written English.

2) Someone accessing firearms without the competence to figure out the basics of the equipment they have.

OP - invest in some training.

If all you want to do is flame and belittle someone for a post they make, well then maybe ya shouldn't respond to their post. Because all ya achieve with that is discourage anyone from seeking the knowledge to better themselves .
