Reading through that massive 75 page DTA thread, you will learn that DTA suppressors aren't the quietest can you can put on there, but they are the most accurate, and in most cases, increase accuracy over the unsuppressed round. I am not sure about other cans, but the DTA will rezero EVERYTIME you put that sucker on there.
Yes... 2k is a lot to spend on a can, but if you want the best you got to pay the piper. I placed an order from the 338 can last week, as well as the 338 conversion. They still have cans in stock! The conversion on the other hand is a different story. My NFA paperwork will probably clear before the barrel arrives. Make sure you order the muzzle break for the 308 that supports the 338 can.
