I was wondering what the DTA owners are doing when it comes to non-DTA suppressors. I am looking to buy a DTA and already have suppressors that are 5/8x24 threaded. Thanks.

I use a 5/8-24 YHM can, it works perfectly for all of my DTA Barrels. What exactly is your question?

sorry, I thought the DTA comes with 3/4x24 threads. I would hate to have the barrel cut or rethreaded.

They do, so you will have to have them rethreaded 5/8. Unless you buy a barrel from SAC (highly recommended)

Alternative is to go to a .338LM can and use across platforms.....

I totally agree. Mark builds the best rifles and barrels out there for the DTA. I have sent all my factory DTA barrels to Mark, that have been 3/4x24, and had him rethread to the more popular 5/8".
Or you can just purchase the brand loyal DTA suppressor, that is 3/4x24. I for one think that there is better suppressor's out there. Not that the DTA suppressor isn't good, I just think there is more price friendly suppressor's out there.

The man makes an excellent point, if you plan on ever having a big girl (.338) then you'd be foolish to rethread 5/8.

Adapters exist to go from 3/4 down to 5/8 for your suppressor.

Get a delta p design adapter if you go this route. I have one with my can and it works great.

I have a TBAC 338 BA suppressor on order. It comes with muzzle brakes from 338 to smaller calibers with all thread pitches, which allows you to use one great suppressor which threads over the breaks on multiple rifles. Piece of cake.

Reading through that massive 75 page DTA thread, you will learn that DTA suppressors aren't the quietest can you can put on there, but they are the most accurate, and in most cases, increase accuracy over the unsuppressed round. I am not sure about other cans, but the DTA will rezero EVERYTIME you put that sucker on there.
Yes... 2k is a lot to spend on a can, but if you want the best you got to pay the piper. I placed an order from the 338 can last week, as well as the 338 conversion. They still have cans in stock! The conversion on the other hand is a different story. My NFA paperwork will probably clear before the barrel arrives. Make sure you order the muzzle break for the 308 that supports the 338 can.

thanks for the reply guys. I was hoping for direct mount instead of the QD mount approach. I guess I will have to look at re-threading as an option and purchase a single caliber DTA kit and add other caliber as well. I already have more suppressors than rifle so I could dedicate one to this rifle.

I don't believe they'll accomodate you with anything other than 3/4x24:
