You didn't say SSR, or DMR, you said "new sniper rifle". New implies replacing the old.

Re: New seal sniper rifle

So Mike have you heard of the MK-20? I hadnt so it is new and they are trying it out. So it doesnt mean that they are replacing anything just trying it out.

That's not a sniper rifle. It's a DMR, or support squad rifle

I would also guess the slight against Navy, and Seal was intentional as well [/quote

Corrected the mistake, not intentional.

Interesting...I know an instructor down in Coronado. Last time we talked their designated rifles are the AIAW 300WM and McMillan 50BMG. He said they were testing the 338 Lapua in various platforms.

Re: New seal sniper rifle

This is just my personal opinion but I'm not a big fan of SCAR looks and that rifle sure looks a lot like a SCAR. Would I love to own a SCAR? YES. However, I was always a fan of ar type rifles. For some reason the SCAR just looks bulky and Star Wars/futuristic like. But SCAR gets raving reviews, and one of my Ranger friends said that while in Afghanistan he preferred the SCAR over the m4. At the end of the day beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. Personally, I would take the m-110 SASS over this any day.

It looks very much like an m14 in troy industries chassis. Probably a metric shit ton lighter however...
