Sidearms & Scatterguns Ghost ring sights on a 1911 Pistol

Re: Ghost ring sights on a 1911 Pistol

I have a few Ruger revolvers that I put a sight like that on. I like them for my purposes. The original rear notched rear blade was removed and the new aperture one installed. Pretty easy installation and easy to revert back if you don't like it. The only issue is it gets bent occasionally.

I have run them on a couple of 1911's for many a year.
Works well for older eyes.

Mine were from the originator , Steve Wickert , who I was introduced to from Louis Awerbuck.

FWIW
YMMV

Pretty full time USPSA shooter told me that these were the craze during comps in his area for a while.

They found that they were great for quick sight picture up close, but not as accurate at longer distances. Which makes sense if you think about it.

Had 'em on a P228 for a while and liked them, but seem somewhat like a novelty.
