KBA, This i know, but I've got a conundrum. I can either wait for the 300TM for 6 months or pick up a Titan Ti much quicker.
I don't plan on utilizing the 338 capability of the can, maybe on occation if a buddy has one. It's going to be a dedicated 6mm suppressor so the extra weight of the can between the two is 6oz. The extra length/dia is 3/4"x 1/4". This is a rifle that I haul around quite a bit and would like the extra weight savings.
I use both .30 and .338 cans on calibers down to 243. I shoot 243, 308, 7wsm, 6.5CM, 300 blackout and 300 whisper with both cans. I cannot tell any difference in sound with any caliber
FWIW I saw a video of a guy shooting a 223 through an Osprey 9mm can and the sound reduction was pretty impressive. So I think if you are like me and can only afford 1 can at the moment youd be well served with the tbac 338
Droid. Im more worried that the 338 can will not do a good job at suppressing a 6mm. Or be to large/to heavy a can for what i want. I do a lot of hunting off the trail where i am walking into areas on snowshoes during the winter. Im not talking occational hunting, im talking every day unless its storming. Do i get the 338 can and expidite getting one or wait for a lighter weight can that might suppress the 6mm better. Or am i over looking something about how well a 338 can will suppress a 6mm cartridge. Xdeano
Yea I cannot tell a difference with a TBAC 338BA being used on a .308 because I still wear electronic ears. But the volume/size of the .338 suppressor makes sense it would help more on a .308 "if" you do not mind the size/weight of it. I do it more for the convience of being able to swap them around. I dedicated a TBAC 30BA to a 300 BLK SBR where the can sits inside a 12" fore rail on top of an 8" barrel... otherwise I would not need to swap them around. They are both big cans, but extremely rugged and dont have to worry about them. Not hating on any other suppressors just a dedicated fan of the TBAC.
Thunderbeaste makes a good can. Ive shot through several now and really like them.
But do you ever shoot a 223 through your 338 can? Im sure someone does. Does it sound like more of a crack then a "hiss" or louder then a can dedicated to the right size?
I figured it out that ill loose 2oz from my current can to the 338 titan and 8oz if i wait and go with a 300tm.
Would it be worth waiting for a 300tm can for 6 more months or should i pick up a titan can in a shorter time frame? I dont plan on shooting anything larger then a 7rsaum. Xdeano

Sorry I have not. I have a SWR that I use seperately on my SBR .223's

Kind of hard to have a suppressor on hand in this day and age. Thats just not realistic.
I have been running a Thunderbeast 30BA on my 260 Remington and it works great. I'm waiting on the paper work for the 338BA which will be used on a 300 win mag.
But for the added weight of the 338 and only shooting a 6mm I would get the smaller can (30 cal) length also comes into play.
On my 300 BLK OUT I use a 338 can (brand with held because of quality issues)and it works OK.
That's something I never thought about. What do you mean you "shot through several?" I thought they basically lasted forever. Looking hard at a TBAC can for my 338LM and now I'm wondering how many rounds it'll be good for.
Havoc is correct. You shoot a bullet "through" a can. It doesn't actually come into contact with anything, atleast they shouldn't, if they do you be going through a lot of suppressors. For most a suppressor will last a very, very long time.
