GAP 10 Base Height for Nightforce 5.5x22?

Hey Guys...

Looking to purchase glass for my GAP 10 that should be arriving in a month or so. I want to run the Nightforce 5.5 x 22... with the Nightforce unimount.

What height do i need? 1.5?

Any reason I should use the rings instead?

Sportoptics.com is your friend. The are a site sponsor, if I am not mistaken, and give discounts to hide members if you let them know. It will depend on the 50MM objective or the 56MM. They can tell you which one you need and hook you up with it. I have dealt with Scott and I also see Chris on here.

I was about to suggest the same thing.

Most of the AR mounts in the 1.375-1.5 high range put the scope way up there on the GAP-10 because of the "stacked" receiver/rail/hanguard arrangement. The provided mount is 1.270 high. If you're running a PRS stock and try a "standard" AR unimount that's about 1.4-1.5 high you might not be able to raise the cheekrest enough-- with the provided 1.270 mount I'm only 2 clicks down from the top of the cheekrest travel.

The provided scope mount (made by Badger) is nice and is a little lower than your usual AR 1-piece mounts to account for the stacked receiver/rail.

Another bit of info, an S&B 5-25 x 56 and BC flip cap will just clear the handguard on a GAP10 in a 1.18" high 30MOA Spuhr...

I got a NF 5.5-22x50mm with the unimount on my Mega build. It fits perfect, it is a little on the tight side. Not too sure if a 56mm with bc cap would fit n there. Also depends how you like your cheek rest. Some guys prefer higher/lower, I personally like it really low. YMMV

I was told that the NightForce scope didn't come with a base or rings...

Is that incorrect?

The scope doesn't come with base/rings but GAP provides the unimount with the GAP 10.
