He had made up a post about anyone who legitimately needed a Pmag (or two) could PM him and he'd sell them for the regular retail price and a couple bucks shipping. So I PM'ed him and he ended up sending me four 30 round Pmags (he originally said he was sending three), and he told me he did not want any dough for any of it. Mind you folks, I asked if he could spare one or two.

Fast forward about 5 weeks, and I just walked in the door. I see a package on my dryer, but I am expecting no package. I assume it's for the misses. The misses turns the corner and asks, "what did you get now?" (pointing at said package).

I did not recognize the sender, so I opened the box...

I have to admit, after coming home from a 19 hour day (third one in a row), that kind of helps...

I will be giving these to a good friend who just spent big cash on an AR and received one mag with it.

Thanks again, brother.

I owe you big time!

ETA - I just saw another thread titled, "PMags for MIL/LE," but I cannot access it. If any of you MIL/LE folks see this post, please PM me. You can use them more than my friend. He can wait!

Re: So, I Met This Dude on the Hide

For about $50 that guy gets to feel good about doing something nice for someone....... when was the last time any of us did something like this?

In the words of the little dinosaur from Toy Story:
"Great, now I feel guilt!"

Re: So, I Met This Dude on the Hide

He is one of the nicest people I have ever dealt with. He hooked me up several months ago when there was absoulutly no obligation to do so. It happened during a rough patch in life and he really restored my faith in humanity. Thank you again kind sir.

Re: So, I Met This Dude on the Hide

God bless the man. We need more good people like him in the world, who do things out of the kindness of their hearts. Too many people these days are focused on dollars and cents instead of helping each other. Bravo!

Re: So, I Met This Dude on the Hide

That is just simply awesome. There are some great people here on the hide that are always willing to help others out at their own expense.

And good for you for passing it on to others as opposed to making a profit or keeping it if you didn't need it.

No worries. I did, however, post that and then thought, "of crap...I hope Pat doesn't see that and think I am just trying to give his stuff away..." I truly doubt he would mind...whatta' damn nice guy. I have the three mags I need, so why not try to help those out who might also need them? Pay it forward kind of deal...make Pat proud!

Phylodog - I have met a few folks from the Hide and they have all been outstanding folks. I hope to become more involved in this Precision Rifle Series competition, and I hope to meet many more.

Re: So, I Met This Dude on the Hide

hey folks, I am resurrecting this post just as another shout out to a friend of ours, Pat Palmer.

According to another friend of his, Mr. Palmer AKA "onedayer," here on The Hide, passed away last Thursday.

For those of you looking at this post, this is the gentleman we lost last Thursday.

I did not place his screen name or other info in that OP because Pat did not need accolades for his generosity. That was just the way he was, and he would do that for any of us on here. I am now posting his info because there are not many folks like him left on this planet, and I'd like to recognize what type of person he was.

RIP, brother.

Re: So, I Met This Dude on the Hide

Wow this is terrible. I have a buddy that recently bought a rifle from Pat and there was a little problem with the payment. His payment got deposited along with some other checks and Pat wasn't aware of it at the time. To make a long story short when he realized what happened he made it 200% right.
Since I have seen several more examples of his generosity!

Re: So, I Met This Dude on the Hide

FALex & Veer, Thanks for the information. I had no idea Pat passed away. I had the pleasure of chatting with Pat a few times, we worked out a deal together around the Holidays, when he sent payment to me, there was a smaller envelope included. On it was “Happy Holidays God Bless” with an extra $40.
Looks like Pat had that gift of generosity and kindness.
There are many more members here that have gone out of their way to send me parts for free, or PM’d me with offers.
The guys down in Odessa NY, you don’t have a rifle, no worries just come and shoot. They’ll give you 50 match grade rounds, loan you a rifle and teach you to shoot F-Class.
The HIDE is one hell of a community.
From the little I knew Pat, he was one special human being, and I hope the family is surrounded by loved ones.
RIP Pat

This will subvert what every company is doing right now. If we subvert the ceasession of sales and support they will not enforce the illegal laws that violate the Second Amendment.
Give them to your friend
and support the many companies in the states who are NOT SELLING OR GIVING to ANY State, County, City, or government agency

Oh F*%k me, Pat has passed? I never met or spoke to him personally, I did have a few transactions with him through the Hide, and he was a gentleman with a generous soul. Rest in peace, Pat, and thanks for the mags.
