Today I picked my my DPMS LR 6.5 Creedmmor that I found on line 934.83 + 20.00 shipping.

First thing was to do a safety check making sure everything was in working order with the rifle and all parts installed correctly.
The bore and chamber were then cleaned using Butch's Bore Shine a Dewey Rod with bore guide and rifle given a good lube.

Next a Mark 4 M5 was mounted in a set of Seekins rings.

Ammo: Hand loads with 140 A-Max's and 41.5g of H-4350
The factory OCL of 2.820 was to long for the mags
rounds had to be seated @ 2.800

With this all done it was time to head out to the range.

The rifle short stroked every round!

I took a spare AR-10 buffer spring I had cutting it down un tell the rifle would run.
    FIXED!
With the junk trigger I managed some sub MOA groups with the rifle showing some potential.
    100m 0
    200m .7mil
    300m 1.6mil
    400m 2.5 mil
    500m 3.5 mil

I have a GEISSELE Hi-Speed Match trigger and PRS on order will post some pics when I get them installed on the rifle.

    Re: My DPMS 6.5 Creedmoor

My upper in 6.5 Creedmoor was short stroking at first. I called DPMS and they said it sounded like the gas flow was off and had me send the upper back. It was back in my hands in less than 2 weeks working perfectly. They had fixed the gas problem. I tried the buffer spring thing like you did at first but it didn't help.

    It is ..Yes.

I realize cutting down the buffer spring is a Band-Aid but I want to run the rifle in the Vegas match this weekend shitty trigger and all.
I have had 7 AR-10s this being my first DPMS.

On a side note rifle came with Forward Assist I thought is was going to be slick sided like the other LRs I've seen

    Re: My DPMS 6.5 Creedmoor

If your BCG is a tight fit in the upper, perhaps the parts just need to wear together a bit.

Interesting that you could not fit the factory 140 A-maxs into a stock magazine. Mine have all fit with no issues...in at least three or four different styles of magazines. Two of those styles were factory DPMS.

If you are asking me, no I don't. Maybe I will pick one up and try it out.

I don't like shooting high capacity mags off a bench. They just get in the way.

    Re: My DPMS 6.5 Creedmoor

I didnt cut the stock spring and will give it a try and post back.
I have 2 P Mags they are 2.824 on the inside
The factory mags I have are 2.827

That would work if the rifle were over gassed
